Swiss approve prescription heroin

When's the last time you sold your tv to buy weed?

other then depressant drugs, and the biggest "problems" are opioids and benzos, none of the other drugs ive done have real withdrawal, at least so easily.

i used cocaine IV for a year. i used every night to every other night. i experienced no profound withdrawal symptoms at all. even when using large amounts of stimulants over a period of weeks, other then weight gain i experienced no real physical symptoms.

as for benzo adddicts, you can use alcohol to relieve symptoms of withdrawal...

opiate addicts have nothing if they are not involved in these programs. hence why tvs get stolen etc etc.

and in the US yes it is easy to get on methadone or suboxone, but methadone does FUCK ALL for cravings and going to a clinic an hour away EVERYDAY for something that barely kills cravings (unless you want to go up to high blockade dosages) is annoying at best. when i first was on it, id use it to "hold me" while i scored. on suboxone however, my cravings were satisfied sufficiently. this is a shock to some as most rank it lower then methadone. however suboxone is EXPENSIVE and has NO GENERIC here. so since most of us junkies are not rich, we cannot afford to pay hundreds of dollars for a script.

after a year of being on suboxone my insurance was canceled. the result was my relapse on injection drugs.

also, realize that they are getting PURE PHARMECUTICAL GRADE HEROIN, not shitty pakistani street dope cut to 15 percent. 2 shots of lets say 20-30mg of pure heroin would be more then enough to hold me for the day.... plus, cravings are satisfied, and the junkie is going to stop copping because PURE shit is not the same as street crap.

this is the smartest thing any country has done in years. if i could go to a clinic here and get my inject two times a day, plus get care for anything else, i think i MIGHT ACTUALLY BE HAPPY AND WANT TO LIVE.

What's the Taliban got to do with anything? I think you'll find opium/heroin production was a lot lower under Taliban rule - it's against their religion so was banned. Production was higher before the Western invasion and it's gone through the roof since. The only time it went down was during the Taliban era. Yet another reason to dislike the Taliban :D.
 
But really benzo's should be OTC, why is a drug that has almost no risk of OD on its own and doesnt even get you high so regulated?

Because long term use can be psychologically crippling. As well as all the dangers inherent in becoming dependant on them from unrestricted access - there are a lot of people who would be utter drug pigs with them if available OTC, they then find themselves in a situation where they run out and can't obtain any for a couple of days (think losing the container of them while on a hiking hoiday in a remote region) - unrestricted access/heavy use increases thye chances of accidenmts happening (& not just to the user). They are also capable of accellerating the onset of senility/dementia type conditions when taken in large amounts over prolonged periods (and you can't telll me that there wouldn't be a fair few people who would just eat obscene amounts every day, given the chance).

I'm all for not criminalizing people just because they want to take a drug, but this should also come with the caveat that if you get fucked up on drugs and then commit some criminal act (whether intended or not) because you were so fucked up (eg acts of negligence), then you should expect to be treated as a special case, with higher punishments, the samew way drunken drivers who kill get much heavier punishments than say those tha5t cause a death because they are basically not that great a driver.

With freedoms come responsibilities and anybody expecting the former without the latter are possible exceptions to the availability enjoyed by others (after any proposed decriminalization) who understand that one requires the other in any fair & decent society

Are you in the USA? If so well Suboxone is under exclusive license until the end of 2009 then you will see Generics popping up everywhere.
 
i was excited about this until i read an article where it said this move was largely supported because large groups of junkies would shoot up in public parks and such.
that just screams spread disease and other terrible things, so that this was approved more out of public disgust, not concern.

still a step in a positive direction.

I went to the swizz land and could not picture a heroin addict in Switzerland. I went to Geneva and Interlaken which are very small places but still...I must have needed to see zurich to gt the picture and neither seemed like they'd have any drugs at all, maybe coke/heroin(its everywhere), weed an prolly mushies and pills. The drugs that are everywhere.

Anyway I think this scheme to keep junkies off the street and provide them with safe equipment is just a good example of kind human nature. So many people dont care, a few friends saw the needle vendor machine and they said "why would they do that, just giving out free needles so they can go kill themselves" I had to explain to them that having a disposal box and a vending machine would highly reduce the chance of disease spreading.

Ive shared something once, it was only a belt but it was used by 2 people which im entirely sure have nothing but next time I gotta think a little harder, not sharing anything. I prefer shooting up by myself anything so nothing gets mixed up.

Im starting to think drugs and the media is becoming one of the most interesting parts of BL :D always something good to read here.
 
As far as opies go, I can find ways to deal with my withrdawl, i.e. benzos, clonidine, lope, and codeine or hydro, then going all the way when I reduced my tolerance somewhat. Or, as in the past, get on a bupe program. But benzos, by themselves, man, I could not think, sleep, had constant twitching all over the body, was very high strung, suicidal, just plain fuck. I am on 8 mgs. of Clonazepam a day now, used to be 1.5 mgs a day. I can get by on skipping a day, or doing half my prescribed amount, but I fear this will be a lifelong one sided love affair. I can't sleep the way it is, even at my high dose of K-pin. Also prescribed 400 mgs. morphine a day. Everytime it comes to the end of the month I panic just a bit, even if I got a good stash of shit, prescribed or otherwise. I actually need the meds I am on for nerve and muscle damage in my right leg and foot, but I also supplement with junk or done occasionally, and used to have a good connection for Zannys until that turned to another K-pin script. Yeah, hats off to the Swiss, but benzo withdrawl is a strange thing, cause you can kick junk and feel somewhat normal after an amount of time, but the one time I tried to taper off my benzos, shit, moths later I was still like the walking, highly paranoid dead. Had to get back on. They do discharge most all of my panic attacks and also need them for anti seizure, so I never really see getting off. Plus I understand after a prolonged period they change your brain chemistry for good. If so, I'm there.
 
Spot on...eventually everyone's grandmother will be going into clinics in switzerland to shoot up legally without persecution; big old government block-type buildings...walking out of them like old farts walking out (or trying to) from their "retirement villages"...this then will make the youth become very turned off about heroin in general since only old farts use it just like denchures, and hence a whole new generation of Swiss youth will be rebelling against doing heroin, since it will be no longer "cool and illusive". :)
 
Well. Totally agree re benzos v opiates as the killer.Meth is a head kick,thats it,Morphine is painful, but tolerable. Heroin is hard,ok killer, but fucking methadone is the HANG OUT KING...for weeks if not months but, and i mean but, benzos get into your bones.. they break your spirit. Had to take up drinking full time (first light till late)to get sleep 6 mnths later!!! i still twitch in my sleep, head feels fucked/cottonwoolly. Now i`m mixing eXcess (fav word) with just cones and alcohol and it kinda works. got a week before i can see a doc and i`m kind of hoping not to want to get a script...
 
If I could get a script for as much heroin as I wanted legally and cheaply then I would move to that country in a heartbeat and forget about methadone.
