I've been getting into swing music again. I noticed I will go back to it every couple of years. due to band like Big Bad Voodoo Daddy and the Cherry Poppin' Daddies, swing witnessed a revitalization in the 90s.

I think the drumming is in top form with drummers such as Gene Kruppa.

do you like swing? can you recommend me some

Gene Krupa and Buddy Rich are a couple of Swing legends. I certainly love me some Count Basie, although I am not as well versed with the names of the array of drummers to sit in his bands.

I didn't hop on the resurgence of swing in the 90s too much, but I do enjoy some of Andrew Bird's early stuff. The drumming on both "Thrills" and "Oh, the Grandeur" by Kevin O'Donnell is some of the finest around...plus you get some of Andrew's wry wordplay and, sound-wise, a pretty far cry from his current material.

i didnt care about the swing revival
and didnt care that much about swing in the first place, sadly
i remember watching swing kids and getting all excited about swing
lots of crappy recordings too (i mean sound quality)

count basie, benny goodman and duke ellington is what i remember about it

one thing is sure tho is that one of my favorite tune is a swing classic : it dont mean a thing

this version : Ella Fitzgerald & Duke Ellington - It Don't Mean A Thing If It Ain't Got That Swing

so fucking fantastic, kicks my butt every time
such a energy, make people wanna move and do something

I thought axl was referring to the new swing bands, which are a blend of trad swing and rockabilly, IMO. Royal Crown Revue are one of the biggest names in that scene.

Traditionally, along with those mentioned above (Louis, Ella, Basie) you would have to check out Glenn Miller.
