But again, who knows? We don't have the full story.

But things do not escalate this far without any reason. I don't say that out of an abundance of trust in ours government -- much the opposite. But no social services agency is going to be running around and getting involved with things like this for no cause, if only because resources are limited. And there are probably clear and well defined protocols for when to involve law enforcement.

I must say that she made the right decision, treating a disproved pseudosyndrome with holistic pseudomedicine. It's reprehensible, however, that a parent can't decide how their child recieves medical care. Risperdal is hardly a benign medication as so many others have pointed out - there should be serious thought given before prescribing it to a 13 year old.

Why is it worse then adults who can't choose due to involuntary admission?

As for SWAT, they just come on a call out when requested by the PD for whatever reason (high risk warrant, shooter, barricade hostage (probably what this was called... CPS had custody I'm guessing and she was withholding the person in a closed off area) or anything else that goes beyond constable numbnuts comfort zone and skills.

Maybe the next dominant species after us will be smarter, or atleast less greedy.
