This kicked off tonight.

For those who have not heard:

The competition will consist of a round robin phase, where each boxer will fight three times, and be awarded 3 points for a win by knockout or technical knockout, 2 points for a win on points, 1 point for a draw and 0 points for a loss.

The top 4 from the group phase will continue to the semi-finals, matching the leader against no. 4 and no. 2 against no. 3. The winners of the semi-finals proceed to the final, for the tournament.
[edit] Participants

* Germany Arthur Abraham
* United States Andre Dirrell
* England Carl Froch
* Denmark Mikkel Kessler
* United States Jermain Taylor
* United States Andre Ward

Arguably four of the worlds best there, with the other two in the top ten also.

Taylor got knocked out by Abhraham earlier, much as it had been predicted. Abraham is a lunatic. Looks like a caveman and dresses in regal robes in the ring and speaks with a guttural German accent. He's like the invincible villain in a Rocky movie. And he said he's coming to "take" America.

There's going to be a war between him and Kessler of Denmark, but I think he'll win.

Carl Froch just got a controvorcial split decision over a young American, Andre Direll. He just about shaded it. Direll was negative and a little dirty (both equally dirty infact) during the middle rounds, which cost him in the end.

He's a good fighter, Direll, and I think he should make the semi's.

Froch, while limited, is unlikely to fight somebody so wriggly as Direll again and will be able to hurt whomever he fights. And they, especially Abraham and Kessler, will not run. Should be entertaining!

Not seen much of Ward, so not going to comment on him yet.

Was anybody else watching tonight? What do you think?
