Hi there! I have just got my sample of sunifiram and have real doubts about its identity. It has quite a strong somewhat bitter taste but it is highly soluble in water, more than 150 mg in 1 ml. According to Sigma aldrich though it has a solubility of 24mg/ml and other sources give 50 mg/ml. Wrote an email to my vendor but got no reply yet. Can someone confirm me if sunifiram has such high water solubility?

I don't think any of us can give you a clear cut answer. If sigma Aldrich says a certain amount, then I'd go with that one as that is kinda what their business is, instead of internet posters with unverifiable backgrounds.

The figure of 50 mg/ml is on another reliable source https://www.medchemexpress.com/Sunifiram.html. Interestingly, sunifiram has a melting point of 98-100 C and it started to melt when a test tube containing a small quantity was immersed in boiling water. Unfortunately I dont have a basic TLC for purity testing or silver nitrate for chloride ions. It doesnt react with BaCl2 though so no sulfate or phosphate. Also I doubt Sigma tests the solubility of every substance on stock, they are much more likely to just copy the figures from other sources. Dont know.
