Suitable veins for injection

I'm starting to run out of places to shoot from slightly above my elbows to my wrist. I've got some minor bruising and I'd really like to allow everything some healing time so I don't have to make injections close together as I slowly become a human pin cushion.
I'm going to assume that most likely I could just pick similar veins in say my leg, but since I have not been shown how to do this first hand, I'd like to make sure there is nothing I need to know before I go end up collapsing a vein or something. Any other reasonable injection spots are welcome as well.

You have to REALLY fuck up to collapse a vein.. you have a lot in your body though, you just want to avoid the small veins.. once you're in, just make sure you're not in an artery (if you were, blood would shoot into the syringe)... nothing to it! Check around your waist and lower legs - do not go for the tiny veins in the foot, girls do that!

"I am not one of those weak-spirited, sappy Americans who want to be liked by all the people around them. I don't care if people hate my guts; I assume most of them do. The important question is: 'What are they in a position to do about it?'" (William S. Burroughs)

You can use any vein...Just gotta becareful about the small ones so you don't colapse them. Top of your hand is good, top of your arms...I've never tried using my legs...If the veins on your neck are close to the surface those are big and easy to hit and strong. But really any vein (except don't try shooting into your dick it could lead to bad things) is acceptable.

Thanks. I pretty much assumed what you guys said, but wanted to verify with someone that had experience.
I've been particularly cautious since a few nights ago. I hit one of the generic veins in the inside of my elbow and as I started shooting all of the sudden my arm started glowing pink and swelled immediately. The swelling went down as the advice nurse said it would with water, but nobody could tell me what actually happened. Over use of the vein was ruled out, so it did not just break open or anything and some sort of infection was ruled out after I was placed on anti-biotics as a precaution. The other odd thing was that I had shot the first half of the same vial 3 hours prior and it was an excellent shot, you couldn't even tell I'd hit there by the time I shot again.
I really can't figure it out. I do everything very clean. I'm very careful and delicate. Then my friends reuse everything, leave water out for days and still use it, don't use alcohol wipes or any form of sterilization, shoot in the same spot over and over and basically just jam the needle in, but nothing bad ever happens to them...

Nothing bad has happened *yet*. Give it time....Soon you'll be laughing because you have healthy veins and they'll have infections and serious complications.

How often do you shoot? And how often do you cause bruising/swelling/whatnot?
Have you been shown how to properly inject, by someone who knows how (in person)?
What kind of needles do you use?
