((NOTE: ~I AM NOT COMMITING SUICIDE, OR SUICIDAL~ This writing, and others following under this title are an exercise in trying to convey the power of a message someone feels necessary to take their own life to convey. All of these are fictional. Some may find these to be morbid, overly pessimistic, or downright depressing... so proceed at your own risk.))
This isn't my fault. God knows I was just a good little boy. Nothing is ever my fault. It's not your fault, either. Don't ever worry that this was your fault.
Who did this? Who could possibly make such a healthy, young man want to take his own life? Who can we blame?
I'll tell you.
You can blame every violent movie I've ever seen. You can blame every rock song I've ever heard. That's right, Marilyn Manson came into my room personally and handed me a gun, told me I wasn't cool if I didn't do it. You can blame every game of Quake or Mortal Kombat I've ever played. You can blame every role-playing game or card game I've ever seen. My poor, impressional brain couldn't handle all of Satan's messages hidden in those seemingly harmless passtimes.
It couldn't be us. We have a perfect society; nobody should want to take their own life unless provoked by some outside stimulus, right? Everybody loves to move like a ghost day in and out, already dead to the world.
No. It must have been those Harry Potter books, teaching children that cavorting with satan is the cool thing to do. Or those Pokemon demons. Nobody would ever want to leave behind a warm, caring society... unless something told them there was something better. We know that's just not true.
There's nothing here to break a spirit, except all of those damned other people. WE never raised our child wrong. WE always paid attention to our son's feelings, WE told them that those things were evil. WE warned him, but THEY got to him. It's not our fault. Not his fault. Not my fault.
Someone is going to have to pay. To fill OUR void. WE can't be arsed to take a look inward. WE can't handle a discomfort within, so WE can just find an eaiser way in everything else around. WE can be as afraid as we want. WE don't have to worry about our son being anything short of perfect. HE wasn't the one who did this. it was THEM.
Go make them pay.
((Criticism welcome.
