i kept trying to find stats for last year, but the best charts showing the huge differences in suicides by sex are those two i found;

im sure the stats didnt change significantly just in the year of 2011. so can you guys help me out here and tell me whats wrong with this figure ? it seems to me, maybe im confused, but males are way way more prone to suicides and death than females. its A HUGE DIFFERENCE. one would think, hey its normal if its a little above but... that much ? can you please help me find reasons for this. i always thought women were complaining about social oppression ? if women were ever so socially oppressed, how come males in society are more likely to suffer and suicide ? :|

I honestly don't find this thread appropriate for second opinions based on the following:

-->The question asked really has no relevance, i.e. I can't see anything to be gained from knowing this, no constructive conversation coming of it.

-->Complaints of social oppression from women is not the issue it used to be, especially not in 2011. Many other minorities are far more discriminated against.

-->Statistics on suicide broken down solely by gender and age leaves out far to many factors to allow anything but speculation as to an answer to the question posed.

Closed. Please PM with any questions if need be.
