Gonna be in Maui next week. Any suggestions on what are fun things to do. Going to Mt Halaeakala, Hana. Staying in Kanaapali. Whats the best and.or cheapst way to get to other Islands flying or Ferry for day trip possibly Big Island or Molakai. Maybe Lanai. Thanks! Out of curriosity is Ice still used and/or abused' Here heroin is astronomical. What type of dope is out their: tar from mex, or China white *SE Asia, or miscelaneous.

Not sure how the ice is there... didn't do anything except swim and drink. haha. if you have a chance go snorkeling at Honolua Bay. best snorkeling spot on the island.

Snorkeling Molokini or if you are going in the winter a whale watch cruise. Don't try to score in Lahaina. Likely to get ripped off to some extent or busted; it's a tourist trap for sure.

Went to Maui. Bumbed because I didn't have time to go to Makena (Big Beach). Lahaina struck me as a big rip off, wasn't a day that went by walking through Lahaina were I didn't get hit up by some creedler asking if I was looking for weed. As far as other drugs, I got the impression that coke use was increasing and pills to a lesser extent maybe replacing ice according to a guy who was trying to get clean. Heroin is tar and very expensive, this according to a girl who moved there to kick heroin and ended up getting strung out on ice- but had been clean a year (went to a few AA meetings on the Island). But I digress. In Kanaapali, Dig me Beach ( from the opening of whalers village to the Marriot was definately the place with the most eye candy. Honolua Bay was a cool beach- didn't snorkle their but their are alot of cool beaches and coves North of Kanaapali on the west shore. Didn't go on the road to Hana but drove the west shore past Napili, ect...thats a cool drive. There is a blow whole along the way and the highway is windy and 25 mph. I took it were it finally ended which was a small town that was built in the early 1800s. A very narrow one lane road thats paved but has only a few places were you can turn off to let other cars pass, began. Decided to turn back rather than trying to make it to kahului. The west shore is a definate treat. A sub species of silver sword grows here too different from the one on the top of Haleakala.

The up country is definately worth checking out and Paia, a town on the north shore is a cool place to check out. It is the de facto hippie center/ bohemian center. Be sure to check out the hemp store here. For a splurge check out mama's fish house were the fish thats served is caught that day and the menu says were it was caught and by which fishing boat. Makawao is a cool town in the lower part of the kula high country that has a small farmers market every wednesday. That is worth checking out as well- lots of new and old hippies, cool friendly locals, ect... I was told the waffles at Grandmas on the way to Tadeshi winery are awsome by more than one person. Makawao has a good backery by the way- loved the vanilla donuts and guava Malisadas.

Sounds like an awesome time. Was this your first time out there? My company sends me there annually- I've gone 5 times now- but I don't get to go again until mid March. Big Beach is fun- but you have to climb the hill to Little Beach to see something different....

This was actually my 3rd trip, my second one was in the summer of 94' in Kaanapali @ the marriot (my girl worked for them and they had an exchange deal) for 10 days were we did big beach, Part of the drive to Hana (the road got washed out), and Haleakala. The first trip we stayed in Kihei with my family which I wasn't impressed with but Wailea seems cool. The week before we stayed at the Mauna Kea in Kohala on the big Island. I got a free trip to act as a babysitter for my 2 year old nephew from time to time, Thats the first time I tried kind Maui bud smoked out by a guy I picked up hitchkiking. In 94 I scored epic waves on the south shor boat harbor Maalea or however its spelled (double overhead and offshore. In 93' I scoored atypical NW swell waves head high to overhead and fun @ waipio bay on the big island. It was offshore until late morning- usually it blows out and is flat that time of year. I caught it fub 2 days in a row. This time I didn't surf, I'm older and there were no waves- people were calling it lake maui. Your lucky your company sends you there. Next time I want to save up money and take 3 weeks- 1 week on Maui, 1 week on the North shore Oahu (were our good friends have friends and family) and a week apread between the big Island and Kaui, the latter I've never been to.

Ice is rampant in Hawaii and it costs more than on the mainland as does all drugs. From all I have heard and seen Tar is the heroin available there,as mexican drug cartels supply all the coke and heroin and much of the Ice to hawaii. The weed there is great especially for most of it being high grade outdoor shit...I have heard of small amounts of SEA #4 being there in small amounts,so you would have to be in tight with the local heroin circle there to get any if it was even around at the time..
