Such a thing as REVERSE tolerance?

I did a quick search and didn't find much, but if there is already a post about this feel free to delete this thread.

Alright so here's what I was wondering about. I'm a total caffeine addict, I take No-Doz though, no coffee for me. I usually take about 2 pills a day (400 mg). Anyway recently I've noticed that when I take my usual dose I feel like shit. I decreased the dose to 200 mg (1 pill) to see how that affected me, and it was like I had no tolerance at all. Now I thought this might be because of caffiene's long half-life which is close to 24 hours in adults, so it may be that its just building up in my system making it seem like my tolerance is less. Anyway I just wanted to know what was going on and if anyone has experienced this with any other drugs, the more you take the less you need. Its very strange but sort of nice, now if only Opiates were the same way!:\

Reverse tolerance = sensitivity :)

I think you overdid it and got "used to" the feelings of having too much caffeine in your system. Going back to 200mg left you with some of the good feelings, but didn't get your system too messed up.

I have read/heard (can't remember which) that Nitrous Oxide exhibits a reverse tolerance with regular use. Im skeptical but what are the facts?

Reverse tolerance occurs in naive subjects with many drugs (cannabis, amphetamines) in the first few instances of use.

After prolonged use tolerance develops.

I can't say from experience but I have heard several people mention that when taking 5-meo-dipt your tolerance actually goes down for a period of time.

You can demonstrate behavioural sensitization to stimulants in animals, where you need to give them less to get the same behavioural response. Some people argue there are analogous example in humans... I'm not sure if I agree...

I haven't heard of this. I take nos reasonably frequently and I reckon that it was stronger before when I was just new to nos then it is now. Or it could just be that I take it, now, when not on enough drugs.
