I've been on Subuxone for about 3 weeks now, started at 16mg/day and am down to around 2-3mg/day now. This is from coming off a gram a day heroin habit.
Anyway; today I tried to IV subuxone for the first time. I'd been on an adderall bender and only had 2 hours of sleep in 2 days. So, desperate to get some relief and relaxation I did some research on shooting subs and soon broke out my works and drew up about 1mg. I shot it and felt the tinniest of rushes, then a little familiar opiate calmness. I was very underwhelmed. It seemed like all the best experiences people wrote about were with low doses, but I didn't get much.
20 minutes later I'm feeling alright, this isn't like any other opiate I've tried, IV or otherwise. I decided to take another shot and make this one count. I prepped 4mg of subuxone and put it into my left arm. I had the same instant rush as with the 1mg shot but more pronounced. Things were looking a little better this time around.
I put my kit away and popped 2mg of alprazolam(xanax) under my tongue and let it dissolve. Around 20 minutes later I started to feel good. I was starting to nod and just wanted to cuddle with someone. It felt like a very small dose of heroin, but somehow a little cleaner. My eyes closed and nodded out for an hour.
I woke up still feeling really tired but still "high." It make kind of an afterglow sort of feeling. I sat in bed another 20 minutes and then started to feel pretty damn average. Like nothing had happened. But I got a little rest and need to start my day.
6 hours later I got back home and decided to give this new ROA another go, wanting to finally get more than an hour of sleep, and shot another 4mg. Same as the two before, I felt that tiny rush and then a calmness about 20 minutes later. This shot though didn't feel as good as the one before. Maybe the 5mg I shot earlier blocked all my receptors, or maybe I just hit my ceiling dose. I swallowed 2mg of xanax and a 10mg ambein(zolpidem), and I did wind up falling asleep a half hour after dosing an for an hour and wake up just like the last time.
Overall, I don't plan on shooting my subs. I may try again down the road a little bit when I've tapered down even further and try a high and low dose to see if that is a little for pleasurable. I really wanted to try this and glad that I did it, but I'm not going to add more holes in my arms and waste needles for this. I'll just keep on putting those little orange pieces under my tongue. And the addition of a benzo, xanax in this case, seemed to pleasantly compliment the subuxone shot. I enjoyed the combo quite a bit. And since I did xanax and sub together it's hard to say what exactly did what. I did seem to notice something 20 minutes after each shot and I've read some stories corroborating that.
My advice to anyone reading this and thinking of doing something similar: keep your benzo dose on the low side and try a low sub dose first. If that doesn't work go higher. Wait a while from your last dose to maximize the effect. I believe that to be why my second 4mg shot wasn't as nice. Some time off, quite a bit considering buprenorphines half life, will improve the experience of shooting subs. Whether it has to do with ceiling effect or the binding of too many receptors and the norbuprenorphine not having anything to bind to, I don't know. But what I'll do next time I get that needle fixation I'm going to wait a considerable length of time form my last dose(which will hopefully be .25-.5mg/day) and shoot 1-2mg of subuxone. Then add benzos if needed to achieve something close to heroin without having to relapse and go back down that dark shitty road.
