Subutex AFTER Tramadol...?

I've searched for the answer to this and think I've found it but want to check again with the BL population just to be safe...I don't want to precipitate withdrawal as I feel quite fine at the moment.

If I have taken a dose of Tramadol, will taking Subutex send me into precipitated withdrawal?

I'm leaning towards "no" due to Tramadol's unique properties and the fact that it can be taken AFTER subutex has your receptors under blockade.

Anyone?
 
Depends on how long you have been using tramadol. Just one time then sub you will be fine and vice versa. When I was on sub's I was prescribed tramadol and it actually worked beautiful together. In no way does this mean you should do that. If you have been taking tramadol for more than a week then I'd wait at least 24 hours. Be safe!
 
This is what i dont understand im on subs and cop horrible migraines had a home visiting doctor give me tramadol and it worked like magic .... this is just me my fictor wont prescribe tramadol instead he prescribed mobic ...... :/
 
Mobic seems like a terrible drug for migraines...the Wikipedia entry states that it takes 30-60 minutes from administration to kick in...

If the Tramadol worked for you, can't you call the same doctor who prescribed it and get a refill? Tramadol is relatively easy to get, docs aren't that squeamish about prescribing it since it pretty much sucks for recreation.

Also, I posted in another thread but just in case you don't see it, I'll say it again here - I HIGHLY recommend a rapid taper when using buprenorphine. I usually start at 8-12mg's, then go to 6, then 4, then 2, then 1, then 0.5, 0.25, and jump off. I think that is the best use of buprenorphine. You can become habituated to bupe just like any full agonist, and I've heard the withdrawal from bupe is longer and more difficult than a short acting full agonist, so try to do a rapid taper. I can help you with this if you'd like (and so can many other Bluelighters).

That will get you off the subs, save you from the migraines, and you'll be baseline again in no time.
 
Suboxone gave me migraines as well, I switched to subutex during my maintenance and didn't get one after the switch. Naloxone gave me headaches is what it came down to.
