Bupe Subs to H then back to Subs - Scared of Precipitated Withdrawals..

I had a pretty bad IV H habit and I recently decided it's time to stop and go on suboxone. I took around 6 miligrams of suboxone sucesfully yesterday around 2pm.. However later that night I ended up doing some H and I also did quit a bit of H this morning at around 11:30 am. I regret doing it and I didn't even feel it (i maybe felt it a tiny bit this morning only because i did so much but i'm not nodding out like i should be right now). But now I want to get back on suboxone.. Do I need to wait to be in full withdrawals before I take the sub? Or can I take it tonight and avoid precipitated withdrawal since I already had the suboxone on my receptors..

I heard that if you're on subs (and thats what you're dependent on) and you use H then you can take subs whenever (a few hours after using) because you're main addiction is suboxone. But i don't know where I stand considering I only take it yesterday..

If it helps, I took about 6 milligrams over an hour in 3 doses of 2mg. I just want to know when it's safe for me to take subs again considering I used twice (last night and this morning) and want to avoid precipitated withdrawals.

There is one old standard that works almost 100% of the time. If you are feeling bad (not just tired or slow), its likely safe to take the sub. I always did something I called 'priming', you take a very very small amount of sub, like 1mg. If you feel ok in a half hour, take another 1mg, if no problem after that, you can usually take your full dose. Plus it should be even easier with you, that sub you took is still hanging around from a brain receptor perspective and should allow you to take more at almost any time.... but still do the 'priming' to make sure.

I have been on subs for over two years at a much higher dose. When I want to use I make sure to only take one large shot (be careful and do not use too much!!) because the more times I use the shorter it is until I will start to feel sick. The first time I used while on suboxone I only waited about 8 hours because I started to feel bad, and had used for two-three days straight, and I was more sick for about 2 hours then I've ever been!! It's like 3 days of bad withdrawals all crammed into an hour or two!!
There are other times though, where i haven't even started to feel bad but it has been over 24 hours and i go back on Subs and feel fine. I've done this many times, and I would say you at least wanna try and make it 24 hours if you can, Especially since you don't have a huge a huge amount of suboxone in your system yet.

Hey I understand that maybe it is 24 hours since hes an IV user, but for someone who took a small dose of pills (oxy), couldn't 12 hours be sufficient? I've always read 12-24. To do with extended release/build up in body. But I am asking for my case, because usually I am high 3-5 hours. 6 hours down. 12 hours w/d.

how big of a dose? If you took less then 60mg's and you are already sick then you may be ok.. I have heard that some people can dose 12 hours after using, regardless of ROA, everyone is different, I just know 24-48 hours is recommended

I agree with this. And don't take the sub by any other roa than sublingual. The one time I went into precipitated w/d it was because I iv'd my sub and it was hell. Try something like the above and you should be fine if you wait til you're sick to do the subs again.

I have had a lot of bad precipitated wd's because of suboxone. I have to be in full blown wd before I can dose a suboxone. Otherwise I will put myself in full blown wd I tried priming and if I take .5mg it throws me through a loop and I have a hard time getting back to normal because if I took more suboxone I would get worse and worse for about 8-10 hours then I would be stable. everybody is different.

I am talking the previous night 30mg that morning 11am, 15mg. so at 11pm 1mg suboxone?

sadly, i only resort to subs when i can not find, nor afford, opiates for a day or two. i usually wait until i feel pretty damn shit-tastic (usually about 24 hours after my previous dose of oxy, H, or the like) before i take subs. taking them when you are addicted to opiates and are just in that boring/scary state of sobriety between sobriety and WD is risky if you are trying to avoid PWD....if you aren't trying to QUIT, i would (personally - this does not apply to you) take about 2mg of sub. and not use either bupe or opiates again until you are back into uncomfortable WD before taking a street opiate. taking an opiate, post bupe, is a waste, IMO, unless you are experiencing WD again. the relief of taking an opiate when in the throes of WD is LOVELY. TERRIBLY lovely. many here know all about it.

I would not recommend taking the suboxone the same day. It may just be in my head, and I don't have any proven evidence to back this up, but I've always felt much better if I've slept a full night and then take the suboxone later that day, waiting as long as you can before taking the sub.
