Hey Guys. I have been on subs for a few months. I was down to about 1-2mg per day only taken at night. About 2 days after I stopped I started feeling achy, hot and cold sweats etc. I have a few oxy that I have taken at night to relieve this and it has helped but at about 11am on I feel the withdrawls again.

I only took the oxy two nights and have no more. I was just wondering if anyone knows if this is from the suboxone or what? It will be 2 weeks on Thursday and just wondering if this will end

thanks

Hello, I believe it is from the Suboxone. I was on Suboxone for a few months and when I stopped taking it I didn't get any WD's for the first two days and I thought, awesome! This really is the wonder drug. Then the evening of the third day all hell broke loose and I was in serious WD's for about five days and nights. I know all chemicals have different effects on different people so this was just my experience and opinion. I hope you are feeling well and that you make it through this okay. Good luck!

it will be 2 weeks today. I saw online it can take up to 2-3 weeks. If i take something as small as 5mg of oxy at night, it goes away, then around 12-1pm the following day, its back. I am hoping it is done soon

Yes it can be tricky, I have read so many different timelines for people who were all dosing around the same quantity so it has to have something to do with each individual's brain and condition. Just hang in there man it doesn't last forever, glad the Oxy helps you and hopefully it won't be around too much longer.

Unfortunately you are most likely prolonging your withdrawal by taking oxy. If you want to get throught these withdrawals you should discontinue the use of any opioids. You will feel like shit for a week or so, then you will start to feel much better. If you keep taking oxy your just going to make this harder on yourself. Suboxone w/d sucks. When i did it i was sick for almost 3 weeks and it was miserable. If you have to use something, look into kratom, thats what i ended up doing. Definitely not a good idea, bc like most opiate addicts you will most likely get addicted to that, but its better than using oxy.

Thanks. Been almost 4 weeks. I feel better each week. You are right. The Oxy just seems to prolong. I have a few Oxy left. Was going to just finish those.

Weird though. Why would the Oxy make me feel better but then still get sub w/d a few hours each day before taking the Oxy. Why would it prolong it?

do you understand how suboxone works? ( I'm not being sarcastic I just want to make sure you know!). You should do some research on BL....but either way your prob going to go through some type of WD, it's not so much dependent on the actual substance but lots of other variables ...that's why some people say one thing is horrible, someone else says the exact opposite.
You are relatively new to all this so stop now and try to get though the physical discomfort!! Good luck. And just chuck the Oxys

Oxycodone hits the same receptors as Suboxone, so what happens is your brain isn't naturally creating dopamine due to prolong suboxone use, Oxycodone is giving your brain synthetic dopamine per se which is relieving your withdrawals, as soon as the oxycodone wears off your brain goes back to not naturally producing those chemicals, doing this prolongs it because your brain is trying to natural heal but ends up getting confused because you're indulging in more synthetic dopamine.

That is not correct. Suboxone is composed of 2 drugs, buprenorphine and naloxone. Buprenorphine is an opioid, meaning it binds to opioid receptors in the brain and body. Oxycodone is also an opioid. It is not synthetic dopamine. Prolonged opioid use causes changes in your opioid receptors. While the dopamine reward pathway is involved in addiction, withdrawal symptoms are not just a result of a paucity of dopamine. They are mainly a result of the changes to opioid receptors and those receptors no longer being "filled" by opioids. One opioid is of course going to relieve withdrawal symptoms from another opioid. That is the point of Suboxone being used for dependence on other opioids. You are replacing one opioid, such as heroin, morphine, codeine, oxycodone, hydrocodone, with the buprenorphine in Suboxone. You can do the reverse as well. You are still keeping your body physically dependent on opioids if you are still taking opioid drugs. The receptors are not healing properly and changing back to their original state because they are continuing to be stimulated.

So basically the oxy is relieving the opioid withdrawal symptoms for a while because it is not as long-acting as Suboxone, and then the symptoms come back when the oxy has worn off.

That's what I was pretty much trying to explain, just used a poor choice of words, I suppose. Lol.
I was stating it released dopamine from a synthetic way.

Thanks guys. I pretty much get it now. Was just curious. the w/d from the sub is getting better. basically not really there much at all, just maybe a little bit at night but sometimes not at all, but sometimes it gets bad. hopefully worst is over

thanks
