Bupe suboxone withdrawals

Hello everyone! So I'm new to Bluelight, in fact this is my first post, and I have a question about suboxone withdrawals. I have been taking suboxone recreationally for the past week (around 6-8 mgs a day, sublingual flim.) Before I started sub I would take roxys about every other week taking 30-60mg a day for no more than 3 days at a time. I have never gone through withdrawals before, (at least not to my knowledge) and I wouldn't say that I was physically addicted to Roxicodone. My question is: If I abrubtly stop taking suboxone without tapering down, after taking 6-8mgs/day for the past week, will I experience any withdrawals?
Another question I have: Will my tolerence to opiates be higher or lower after I stop taking the sub?
Any response will be appreciated, but please try to be nice if you're criticizing or correcting anything I wrote.
Thanks, PhatMan...

Hate to say it but yeah you probably will experience some minor withdrawals.. but I dont think it will be anything severe. Some loss of sleep and anxiety will most likely be the extent. Bupenorphine likes to hang on to your receptors for extended periods of time, which also (sorry) will mean your tolerance has probably gone up this last week. Bupe for recreation is a bit silly imo.. but whatever works.

Thanks for the reply. Yea I didn't think I'd like it either at first but it sedates me pretty well and it makes me not feel like total crap, which is all I'm mainly looking for and its about a third of what my roxys are. I can probably stand the anxiety and insomnia as I've had to deal with both of those problems in the past. My main concern is the sweating. From the info i gathered it seems that one sweats a great deal while going through w/d's and that isn't too attractive..lol..you think that will be big a problem for me?

I would not worry about that, you will suffer very mild psychological - IF ANY wd's from just a week.

I know I would not feel any WD's from that short of time but everyone is different so I can't say for sure you wouldn't. You know.

What is actually the recreational value of bupe? I only tried it few times when I was on oxycodone for pain management and run out of them because the Dr prescribing them was on holiday and the two others I visited could not or did not want prescribe them. I did at first two mg sublingually and it did not give any pain relief. Then I started snorting 2mg at once and until I hit the 8mg I felt decent pain relief but no high or anything recreational. That continued for three days and I just decided to stop taking it and felt worse than quitting oxys cold turkey. I know that I was actually withdrawing from oxys and bupe altogether during that time but I just cant get anything positive output from taking buprenorphine.

I would have to agree, with the short time u have been using it your WD's shouldn't be bad at all. I quit 6mg/day sub habit that i had for about 3 months with only a week of tapering and other than mild "psychological" symptoms i felt fine, no physical symptoms, no cravings at all. Again everyone is different but i think since its been such a short time u will be fine. I cant say i would do bupe for fun though; but whatever floats your boat! i hope it works out for you

Thanks for the input ya'll..Im not nearly as worried as I was. Btw when I say "recreational", I don't mean I'm getting really messed up or im taking it with intent of partying, I just mean that I wasn't taking it for opiate withdrawals. I mainly was taking them to chill out and fall asleep easily. Though I agree, it really isn't a fun drug to do like oxy or most other pain killers, but it's better than nothing IMO.

Dude after all you'veheard you have to face the facts , your are addicted. I n my case I'm on disabillity and first went from 5-percoceters> to 10s. to 15mg oxys and finally to 30mg oxys. Now I know I'm addicted andso I also have a DR.w/ a SUBOXONE licsense and now squirrel away subs because as a pain killer they do nothing for me but if I run out I do not want the runs, gagging, wrething and all that goesw/ WDs.

The first time I took suboxone it was for a week and I did 8mg/6mg/6mg/4mg/4mg/2mg/2mg and I did not have any physical or psychological WD's. It might be mild at most so I wouldn't worry about it too much. Good luck.

I used subs to get off dope, and the way I did it was 4mg for two days, 2mg for four days, 1mg for two days, then about .5 for two days. I had withdrawls the first three days of taking the subs, but thats just because I was coming off a really bad habit. When I came off the suboxone, the first day wasn't bad because I still had a little left in my system, but even coming off of that .5, the next three days were like baby heroin wd's.

Watering eyes, running nose, sore hips and back, the constant need to stretch with no satiation, Insomnia and some minor depression is what you can look forward to. If at all possible, you may want to taper down even more like going to .25 (I know thats pretty much impossible to measure, but you just gotta kinda eyeball it). Avoid diphenhydramine (Benadryl, any PM pain reliever or otc sleep aid) because it can cause muscle spasms that will keep you awake longer.

Benzos like ativan, klonopin, or xanax work much better (clonodine or catapres works great too, especially in conjunction), but you should only use them for the first couple days since you could pick up a benzo habit just as easily. Trazodone can help some people with sleep too, but others it can keep up all night If absolutely neccesary, you can have one vicodin, but thats it and not after the initial three days. Marijuana and alcohol in non exessive amounts help a lot too.

Trust me, I've detoxed a lot........i could be more detailed but if you experience wd's, I guarantee that if you follow this even vaguely with your own substitutions, you will have a much less miserable experience. If youre lucky, you may not even feel all that bad, and if that is the case, I'm jealous.

And a note on the tolerance, it will be lowered when you initially detox, but if you go right back, the only dose that you can get away with making small is the first one, then its right back to the races. If you give yourself a month or longer, your brain has a chance to recharge some of its natural chemicals and not only will your high be stronger, but you will have less chance of developing a habit again, and you'll be happier in general when you're not on it, so there will be less of a compulsion to use constantly.
