So here's SWIM's story,

SWIM is a 25 year old male and for the past 1.5 years SWIM has been on and off lortabs (10mgs up to 10 or 15 pills a day).
It eventually got to the point to where SWIM was just taking lortabs to feel normal, SWIM could no longer get high off of them.
During those two years SWIM quit cold turkey twice, SWIM remained clean for about 2 months each time, and eventually SWIM thought "I've had
enough time away from them that I can take some and get a little buzz and have a good night". Which would result in a relapse.

The two times SWIM withdrew from lortabs he felt normal in about 3 days. It was actually pretty easy. SWIM Knocked himself out with benzos and became a' ok.

So this year, SWIM relapsed again except this time on Opana (Quarter of a 30mg pill a day).. SWIM eventually got to the point to where SWIM couldn't afford to keep taking the opana, and luckily SWIM found a suboxone contact. So for about 4 months SWIM took suboxone... SWIM is not sure on the dosage VERY VERY small, SWIM would just shave off a little bit and snort it in the morning, and shave of a little before bed and take it. One Pill lasted SWIM about 11-14 days.

From what SWIM has read this is a VERY low dosage of suboxone.

So this past memorial day weekend SWIM got ready to get clean. SWIM Stocked up on Benzo's, immodium, clonidine. SWIM had just about everything he needed.
Day one was VERY easy for SWIM, hardly any symptoms (prob b/c of suboxone's h/l )
Day two was god awful, day three bad but not as bad as day two.
Day 4, just groggy, teary eyed, snotty still.
Day 5 chills snotty nose fatigue.

SWIM is now on day 9, The past two days SWIM has had hot/cold flashes, and VERY VERY bad insomnia problems, during these days SWIM's chills and insomnia were even worse than day two and three of w/ds.

SWIM is confused, from the amount of his consumption the worst should be over.

SWIM is wondering could he be having benzo w/ds? Days 2-3 he consumed about 5 bars a day, day 4-6 about 1 bar a day.

Does anyone have any advice for SWIM? Last night SWIM purchased some more xanax, and it helped a small amount, he is still having chills, insomnia and this morning the runs :*(.

Thanks :D

Welcome. We don't use SWIM here. See a proper physician who is certified to Rx Suboxone (www.suboxone.com). IMHO, it is very difficult to d/c Suboxone without proper guidance. Suboxone has a half-life of about 36 hrs, which explains its longer period of withdrawal, but I'm still not certain how many mgs you were taking. And yes, benzo withdrawal could explain the clinical signs of anxiety and insomnia. Has it occurred to you that you might have the flu?

Yes that was the first thought that crossed my mind. Although the instensity and the fact that it felt unlike any opiate w/ds brought Benzo w/ds or some cause into thought.
One 8mg suboxone lasted around 12ish days on average, so about .6mg a day for 4 to 5 months. Never increased or decreased dosage.

If you crunch the numbers, you should know where you are in Suboxone metabolism, but you should be done with it. You might want to start over and plan a longer taper.

If it is lingering sub WD, it should be nearing the end and should be getting easier, especially physically. Have you had stomach issues or eating issues at all prior to today? You might want to try using Immodium AD (loperamide) for a few days. Or you might want to try taking a small amount of sub (like 0.1mg) just to ease your discomfort for some time. It would be such a small amount that it wouldn't be a setback, especially since you haven't taken any for the previous 9 days.

Had you been taking benzo's prior to WD? On day 2 and 3 you took 5 bars (10mg) of xanax? You could potentially be having some issues from suddenly taking so much and then dropping down quite a bit. Unless I'm reading that wrong, that seems like a lot of xanax to be taking without having a tolerance already.

I have a benzo tolerance from recreational use, which is why the dosage was so high on those days. I did not take any benzos prior to w/ding. And ever since I started detox I've had stomach issues, no nausea tho, just lack of appetite and a burning sensation.

Today I'm feeling a little better, still tired, yawning, snotty nose, and eyes watering.. This is all just very peculiar because its not PAWs its physical lingering symptoms.. And with my metabolism I should be feeling a lot better by now.. I did take some benzos yesterday 2.5mg, and the above stated symptoms still presided.

Anyone else think I should take .1mg of sub to help my body out? Or will it make things worse. ( I have the self control to only do it one time. )

I am now three weeks clean and I have a few questions for you guys.

This third week has been so hard, I'm constantly sneezing, runny nose, and I notice that I'm more sensitive to the cold. Usually at my desk I got hot in the afternoon, now I wear a long sleeve shirt to work every day and usually stay cold.

Also I have had NO energy.. Making it through my 9 hour work day takes everything in me.. Yawning, sneezing, very low productivity..

How much longer is this going to last? I thought I wasn't sleeping enough at first, but I grabbed a solid 9 hours last night and I feel the exact same today..

Ive been exercising, eating right, and taking vitamins.
