If the law is that they need a special licence to prescribe for detox and you go in saying you want bupe for detox you're going to flat out get refused, they're not going to risk their licence prescribing buprenorphine especially when a local bupe doctor has just lost theirs. On the other hand, you're not going to be able to fake a pain condition that will result in your GP prescribing bupe as a first line response.
Now, I would never condone lying to a doctor, but here is what I would do:
1. Get yourself on a waiting list for a sub doctor.
2. Is this new doctor you are viisiting going to have access to your medical records? I don't know how things work in the US but if you are relatively sure they won't, tell the doctor you got rear-ended in your car the other day and your neck is in lots of pain. It's almost impossible to prove or disprove whiplash as a condition so with a bit of luck they'll script you enough opiate based meds to at least take the edge off for a while.
3. Hope you get enough meds to see you through to seeing a sub doctor.
This is not without risks though, if they have your records and they can see that you've just been cut off from a bupe script you're likely going to be in some sort of trouble, even if it's just having DRUG SEEKER written on your records. It could be worse, I don't know. You could allso end up paying for x-rays and stuff that you know full well you don't need.
Also, if you're going to go through with this plan, you're going to need to really tidy yourself up before going in there. Go in there looking like a junkie in wd saying you're in pain and well....you aint going to get shit. Go in there looking like a respectable member of society and you could walk out with god knows what given the way docs in America prescribe.
I realise I'm sailing close to the wind with the post, but I feel it's acceptable. Mods change if necessary.
