hello everybody, I'm new to this forum and am needing some help finding the best way to get off of suboxone. I've read a few threads that are years old so I thought id start a new one and see if anybody can help me. there is a friend named shooter.. he has been on suboxone for 3 years. using 8mg orange pills. over the course of the three years he's tapered down close to 0.5mg of suboxone (shaves just about a cm long line and snorts it... so it could be less than 0.5mg.)

about 2 months ago he tried to quit, he had only one week; he went through hell for 5 straight days then had to go back to work, at work he still could not function and his boss was getting on his case... so he went back on suboxone to keep his job, but still kept the mg the same.. Now he is about done with suboxone, he erased all his contacts and docs appointments and is trying to give it another try. he has read what helps and what doesn't but everybody has a different view or way to get off suboxone, is it better to come off suboxone or to come off oxycodone or Norco (SOA's). he weighs about 140pounds and is 6'1" tall and has little to no body fat. he is suffering depression and has anxiety, especially because of his fear of the W/Ds.

my question are:
-is it easier to just stop taking his last bit of suboxone, and get maybe a few Norco or oxy and come off that? he's heard that coming off SOA's is easier than coming off suboxone..
- shall he stay on the sub and just go through hell again? what's the best way to get off subs.. I've heard that subs have a longer half life than SOA's, so he thinks coming off SOA's would be better than sub. so he got some oxycodone as is using just a little bit of it just as he would on suboxone. good or bad idea?
- the meds he is getting are stock pile of anxiety pills such as Xanax, temazapam. some Imodium and Dayquil... also some BENGAY cream that relieves muscle aches. I think he has all the ingredients to get off opiates. anything else that he can use please let me know. BUT MAINLY WANTS TO KNOW WHATS BETTER COMING OFF SOA's or just go for it coming off of 0.5mg of sub.
thank you for any replies, I'm sorry if I wrote this in the wrong thread, I'm new.. I just want my buddy to feel better and still be functional at work. thank you and have a great day- wazhinga
