First off if I had been taking 1-1.33mg suboxone once every wed and once Saturday for 2.5 months would swim withdraw if I stopped altogether?

I believe the answer to this is yes the second question is would it be beneficial for me to start to taper by only taking 1 mg 1 time per week for a few weeks then moving to .5mg once a week for a few weeks before stopping.

Would I be better of just stopping and not trying this taper as I can already go a week with out suboxone, not with out what seems to be mild withdraw symptoms mainly feeling like crap stomach/bowl problems and extremely restless sleep 2-3 days after the previous douse.....

I have not had any addiction beside possibly suboxone . I was not on other opiods for any period of time before suboxone.

you only take it twice a week? i would go 1 mg and .5 just so you can be as low as possible. possibly do .5 twice a week after that and maybe even less. once a week seems kinda pointless but then again so does twice a week tbh. i think you'll have minor symptoms but you haven't used other opiates so the suboxone at that low dose could be getting you pretty high.

Hi blftaa, welcome to BL and TDS <3

We don't use swim here - it doesn't protect you at all, and it can make posts hard to read.. I suggest editing your post, or I can do it for you if you prefer :)

If you don't take it more than twice a week you may be okay when it comes to withdrawals, although buprenorphine (in the subs) half-life is anywhere from 20-70 hours, so it may be that you do always have some in your body..

If you can go a week without and feel okay, you may not need to taper. Why not try it out? If you do develop withdrawals that you find hard to manage, then you could restart a low dose and taper from there, as Larson suggests :)

If you do run into trouble and want some help with the practical side of tapering (as opposed to the general/emotional support you can get here) there is a tapering megathread found here.

Good luck! :)

Because of the length of the half life I am pretty sure I have had the suboxone in my system constantly for more than 2 months. Can I just go cold turkey and stop yes. I know this because I had an great job opportunity last summer and quit all drug use one month prior in case of a drug screening which their was none. The job was in another country so I went 3+ months totally clean. But the first 2 months were not so great. I felt like I had mild flue/cold symptoms for 30-60 days. At the time I was not sure what was going on just dealt with it. Now I realize what was happening and would like to avoid it as much as possible by doing a taper instead of just stopping like before..

Currently I have been doing 1mg a week and steal feel these symptoms 3-4 days out of the week.

What I am asking is. Is it even worth it to do a tapper at this low of does have my symptoms mellowed out as much as they possible could? If so will taking 1 mg a week for the next 45 days cause negative side effects as I intend to stop all together in the middle of December when I have no obligations to worry about. So I could just lay around feeling like crap if needed...

I am not sure if this is relevant but 1mg suboxone will give me good opiate euphoria for 10-15hrs still yet when I tried morphine I had to have at least 60mg to notice an effect...

My drug use tends to be sporadic once or twice a week if that but I was able to get a surplus of suboxone and that started more of a ritual of taking it on wed and sat until I realized even though I take so little it could still cause physical addiction.

i think just go cold turkery. you should have very minimal symptoms, just take a low dose of loperamide for this.
you are already on a super low dose, just twice a week.
read up on the tapering mega thread http://www.bluelight.ru/vb/threads/482413-Tapering-Plan-Mega-thread-community-project

hot showers or baths, comfort food, lots of fluids and movies (or something similar and relaxing that you like) will all make it easier for you.
