I asked this in another thread and only got one response. I'd really like some other feedback before I go thru all the time and effort of trying this... I just don't think I can justify paying about $450 more monthly and have to go to the clinic daily for at least 6 mos.

My past ORT experience was totally with MMT for the last 30+ yrs [off and on] I switched to subs about 2 yrs ago and have a clean urine history since... and also was clean for the last time I was on MMT... which resulted in monthly takehomes.

Does anyone know of someone who swiched back to MMT from subs who didn't have to go back to square one regarding takehomes. Did you ot them keep at least weekly TH's. I mean if you've been clean and in compliance on subs... MMT should take that into consideration... shouldn't they? I did switch from one MMT clinic to another and they let me keep the same takehomes... but I suspect from subs to meth it's likely different? Would definitely appreciate some feeback on this.

BTW I called the MMT clinic and they said they couldn't discuss... since that would be dr's decision if he can even do it. I know my subs doc would cooperate with helping... in case that made a difference

I don't know good question. My assumption is that they wouldn't give you take homes right away because the doctor may need to adjust your dose and see how you react because you may need a new dose now that you've been on the Suboxone. So my assumption is, yes, it will go back to square one but he may allow you to move up quicker once you find your dose again.

^ That makes sense and I wouldn't have a problem going daily until my dose was stable. It's the months afterwards. I think the US govt and pharma companies are aggressively promoting Subs over meth. I think the govt likes it because it's cheaper to treat and dr's like it because it's a new source of easy money. We have nearly 300,000 vets in my city but the VA hosp only offers subs. However, theres 3 MMT clinics within 10 miles and one about 5 mins away from my home. i used the one closest for a few yrs until I found a VA hosp 110 miles away who gave it to me free and let me keep my takehomes. Geez... I wish I wouldn't have screwed that up...

Anyway I really appreciate your thoughts and would like to hear others opinions... but I'd especially like to hear from a few who've actually went thru the experience. Is anyone out there?? Suppose i can look around and find some.

Suboxone is definitely being pushed over Methadone. I think its because Methadone is more dangerous and harder to get off of. Some people are known to get high from it as well. Suboxone is a much more convenient treatment as well because you only have to go monthly and doctors like that. Doctors are also making more money by specializing in Buprenorphine. They get much more patients. The company that produces Suboxone is getting rich as fuck.

HabitOpco clinics will require you to go daily for 3 months before being eligible for take homes. Other clinics may vary.
