Suboxone/Subutex question

Hello to all. Newbie here. I really enjoy reading everyone's posts here. Very insightful and informative.
Quick history. Had Surgery in February. Was on 7.5 hydros for a month. Drug of choice has been alcohol/cocaine (in the past). I of course began liking the hydros a little too much. Used 30 7.5's for 4 weeks. After Doctor cut me off I asked friend for some pain pills. This is ten to fourteen days after I was cut off from my hydros. He gave me subutex. Being that I had a pretty low opiate tolerance, I'd pull little pieces off 8 mg pill. Made mistake of taking a half one night early on. I was so high. I was incapacitated, sick and sweating. I kept using for 4-5 weeks. Maxed out at six mg the last day I was abusing. At this point I decided that I wanted to stop. I read some of the stuff on these forums and got completely freaked out about withdrawing.
My question is how bad do you guys think it will be? After I decided to quit after the 5-6 weeks of using, I tapered down to 1-2 mg per day for 5 days. I decided to just go as long as I could without taking a dose. To my surprise, I'm on day 4. It will be four full days in five hours. I know subs stay in your system for a long time. I'm still worried that it's going to all of a sudden just hit me like a ton of bricks. Btw, I suffer from extreme anxiety and that's probably why I'm so worried. Any thoughts/opinions would be greatly appreciated. I wish you all the best and admire each and every one of you fighting this disease of addiction.
 
You'll be fine. None of your habits were particularly long or habit forming. That's why its day 4 and nothing has happened.

Don't fear withdrawal. Your mind will do what you think and will make it worse.
 
That's good to hear Phil. I'm like sitting on the edge of my seat waiting for this impending doom. Being the Star Wars geek I am, I got a copy today and plan on watching episode vii tonight. Hopefully it will take my obsessive mind off of this. Thanks for the answer Phil. Greatly appreciated.
 
Thanks Cat. I think you guys might be correct. Feeling pretty good. I just don't ever want to fall into that opiate trap again. For me, I liked them way too much. The last thing I need is another drug that I "love". Thank you Cat.
 
Good job on getting out early.

I bet that half a subutex had you blastedhard ffor a while.

I remember when I was opioid naive I did the same and was high as a kite for two days.

Thanks Phil. Yeah, I was pretty bad off for the whole night. Finally came down enough by morning to begin to function. Day six, sub free, for me and feeling pretty good.
 
Why the hell did your Dr give you Sub's?? What the hell they are so stupid sometimes. Glad you are feeling better, and yes l concur with everyone else you should be fine. I used for over a year before I experienced withdrawal.
 
Hey Ruby. My doctor was prescribing me 30 7.5 hydros a week pre op and post op. 10 days after surgery he cut me off. I called a friend/acquaintance of mine and asked if he could get me something for pain. I knew he had an opiate history but I never really knew the details. He told me he could give me these pills that he's switched to. They're called Subutex he says. I bought some and continued to for 4-5 weeks until I figured I was playing with fire. I have 2.5 8mg tabs and haven't touched them in 6 days. He's on 3x 8mg a day.
 
U will be fine..that's not long enough to get bad physical symptoms..maybe a runny nose and lethargic for a few days..your anxiety is what u have to worry about
