Suboxone + Subutex concurrently??

I would be very greatful for some assistance from you folks out there who thoroughly know your way around Subutex & (or) Suboxone. If thats not you, thank you, but you need not reply.

I have a few 8 mg. Suboxone's and a few 2 mg. Subutex. I'm getting a taper pre-organized and this is my question: Can I take a dose that utilizes both medications at the same time? I do have reason and purpose for wanting/needing to do this for part of my taper, but it's not relevent. Could this combo cause any problems? Have any of you done this?

EXAMPLE: 6 mg. total dose with 4 mg.'s coming from Suboxone and 2 mg.'s coming from the Subutex.​

I did do a search as well as browse the Mega Thread to no avail. I did not read all 43 pages of the Mega Thread though.

No, taking both together will have no negative or positive effects. Subutex is just buprenorphine and suboxone is buprenorphine and naloxone. So by combining them all you get is just bupe and naloxone, only in diffferent ratios than if you were to take suboxone.

So you can take either made in exchange for the other at any time. As long as they add up to the desired amount of bupe that's all that matters.

So you can either take 4mg subutex the first day, then 2mg the second day or you can take 4mg subutex the first day then 2mg suboxone the first day. Or any other combination of the two. It doesn't matter.

Hey thanks for your response Z Y G G Y. I didn't think it would be an issue but I wanted to check with some other warriors to hear their take on it. I am pretty familiar with both meds just not in the protocol for combining them, and more specifically combining them inside of a single dose.

I've been on the Subutex for about 4 months, hanging around 3-4 mg. daily. It was pretty easy to get down to there from the 16-24 mg. I started on, after about the first 30 days. I've had trouble getting down under 3 mg. though and have been stuck there since. I originally took it very sporadically, basically just going on how I felt. I was coming off about 140 mg. Oxymorphone + some Oxycodone for a couple years.

I have a theory; I just dropped the Sub. all together just recently and switched over to a full agonist again (Morphine Sulfate) I'm gonna use that as conservatively as I can for a month and try to flush the Sub out. After that I'm going to go back on the Sub., but start at 6 mg. and work my way down over 45 days to 0.25 mg. then go clean from there. I'm hoping after the 30 day full agonist break from the Sub. it will be like taking a fresh run at it and a little easier than tapering down from where I'm at now with 4-5 months Sub. use in my system.
