Suboxone simple question

So I relapsed again and I'm honestly ready to get off painkillers. It's ruining my life faster and faster. I guess my question is if I go on the Suboxone program will I always be labeled at doctors offices as a addict? I just don't want that associated with my name. I know it sounds like a stupid excuse but I have a one year old son and I don't ever want cps involved or anything. I can't stop cold turkey because I then can't even get out of bed to care for my amazing son. I'm so DONE and OVER this shit. Any advice would be great thank you for taking the time to read this. (hopefully it was in the right forum.) <3

Sadly, when you get on suboxone, your doc will register you with the FDA and you will forever be on the suboxone-list, or atleast that is how suboxone works in the USA. I have been on suboxone, then subutex for almost 7 or 8 months.

Yah it kind of sucks, but remember doctor-patient confidentiality. Your doc could lose his or her license if they talk, but if your doc thinks you are an unfit mother, than that is a different story. However , usually when someone cones into a sub clinic, he or she wants to get off the harder stuff and that is the first step to getting sober

You could always not tell your doc about your child, there should be no reason to anyways...then there would be no way your doc would even think about calling cps because you don't even have a child! ;)

Good luck, and remember that your other doctors would have to purposely look you up on the list, and if you have to reason to give them any suspicion to think your an addict, they won't. Remember to chose your words carefully! At first glance, unless you were labeled from another doctor that you are an addict, nothing should show up..

I wish you the best...

Great advice laCster...I would also like to add, that if you are one the Suboxone program,it does eliminate some chance for relapse...You won't be able to get prescribed painkillers without hassle. Thus making it harder,in one aspect,of getting your hands on them.Now...Please plan out ahead of time a goal with your doctor who prescribes the suboxone.Choose a certain period of time you would like to be done with EVERYTHING...Although suboxone can help,it is also very hard to get off of when taken for a long period of time.In fact the majority of people I have found in research, have said suboxone withdraw was worse than any other opiate.Based on the fact it is more prone to giving you P.A.W.S(Post acute withdraw syndrome)
