Hi
So I've posted a couple times before about being on a wait list for sub treatment.
I've been using opiates for going on 10 years. I finally got called to be assessed & start sub treatment.
I did my assesment last week, met with my counselor yesterday & Friday I have an appointment to get the suboxone from a doctor. The clinic says they like you to wait 48 hours before inducting yourself. ( It is NOT an in office induction).
So I get my meds on Friday and my hectic schedule for treatment starts Monday. I have a one on one Monday afternoon & Tuesday I have my first 3 hour group meeting ( I have to do 3 of these 3 hour meets & one 1on1 session a week to stay compliant).
My question is.. Being on around 70 mg a day of hydrocodone a day, how will I feel 2 days after I induct? Normal? I'm not sure my dose yet.
I start feeling mild withdrawal 3 hours after my last dose, 24 hours I'm full blown, no sleep, anxiety, pain, the whole 9. Do I HAVE to wait 48 hours before induction even when I'm on a short acting opiate like dro?
Please don't try & discourage me from trying subs, I've tried everything else & I don't feel I'm trading something "mild" for a worse drug. I'm using it as a tool to feel well enough to get much needed outpatient treatment.
Any sub users out there who started on lower scale opiates? How did YOU feel? How long did YOU wait?
Any advice? I'm nervous & excited.
Not sure if I should induct over the weekend or stop on Thursday, drag my corpse to the dr & induct Friday after I have my script filled.. I just want to feel good come Monday when my 4x a week sessions start.
Sorry for rambling & any replies are appreciated
