Hello all,

I have just been released from the hospital and felt the need to warn those on Suboxone about the possible health affects it could have, keep in mind I have been a very healthy 21 year old and never had any health problems before. I had gone to the doctor complaining of headaches, nausea, and other things because of the Suboxone so he ordered a blood test (the first one in 6 months of being on the drug, make sure you get regular blood tests.). My creatine kinase levels were higher then anyone had ever seen, a normal high amount is 200, mine was 188,000. Also my liver enzymes were off the charts (this was a direct result from suboxone). I was stuck in a bed for 5 days withdrawaling and they could not give me anything for it because of my liver, however it would appear the very high amount of IV fluids I was on flushed it out much faster then if I had done it at home. I was diagnosed with Rhabdomyolyis, a break down of muscle fibers causing proteins to release into the blood that can cause kidney failure if it is not washed out. It still isn't clear why my levels got so high, but the liver enzymes were 100% caused by Suboxone.

I am not the first person who has almost had their liver damaged by Suboxone and I won't be the last, it was never meant to be a long term drug. Just take care of yourselves and make sure everything is alright inside yourself, it just isn't worth it. Anyway, I felt that I had to warn everyone about this, as I know a ton of people are on Suboxone. And no, no other drugs were involved I have been clean and sober for two weeks before this, and continue to be clean till this day.

My liver is also bad, though I can never be sure if it was because the Suboxone I was on for years, or the three or four Oxycontin 40 mgs I was taking for years before that. But yes, you're right, Suboxone can be a dangerous drug.

Are you by any chance homo or bi sexual? God is starting to kill all who are as you see in so many celebrity gay deaths.

L,ao I'm jking...sorry..I couldn't resist/ Al drugs interact differently for different people. What is good for me could kill someone else.

I have heard of people reporting an increase in liver enzymes from the Suboxone.. it's one of the potential side effects in the literature. Though, I've never heard of them going so high... it makes me think that though the suboxone played a role, something else contributed to such a strong increase.

Rhabdomyolysis is an extremely uncommon side effect of some drugs, I'm sorry to hear you experienced it.

Normally Suboxone and the other opiates are pretty benign.

What were u taking before u went on suboxone. Percs vics. Just curious. If that caught up with u

Rabdo is pretty nasty. If anyone here is worrying and thinks that they might have it, check your piss. If it looks like pepsi and you feel like shit, then you've got rabdo.

I've seen a few patients with it, usually comes after a very hard work out and little hydration.

The last time I was on Suboxone, there was a little section in the handout regarding liver damage. I didn't think anything about it though.

My liver is fine after 2 years of being on bupe.
