Bupe Suboxone film dosing question

I have been on Subs for over a year now. On the strips for most of that time period.

I usually let the strip sit under my tongue for at least 30 mins, and then swish the spit around in my mouth for another 10 mins. I see many people say that the strip is done for them in a matter of minutes though.....

My question is this......All that spit that taste very bitter and chemical-ly, does that have bupe, or is it mainly nalox? I keep my tongue very firm to avoid moisture entering and to keep the film substance from getting out. No matter what I do, after 10 mins or so I taste a very bitter chemical seeping out. Is this bupe gone once the sticky/gel substance is gone? I hate to be swishing spit around my mouth if there is no point. I know everyone is different, but any advice would be greatly appreciated!
 
I don't think we could really say. From what I know, I believe the sublingual BA or bupe is a lot higher than the naloxone, so I guess it's safe to assume that, after 15 minutes or something, most of what's left will be naloxone. There will still be a good bit of bupe in there though, so I'd suggest (this is what I'd do/in fact do do; hehe doodoo) just swallowing whatever bitterness is left. That, or do the following...

FYI: wash your mouth out with an alcohol containing mouthwash (Listerine) before you put the strip under your tongue. Not only will this increase the BA of the bupe (thus potentiating it in a sense), but it takes WAY less time for the strip to dissolve (about five minutes) and when it does dissolve it dissolves ALMOST completely, leaving very little of anything left in your mouth. Don't wash your mouth with water after you use the mouth wash (again, only those with alcohol/ethanol in them), just pop the strip right in and let it dissolve.

Amazing little trick, using ethanol is I mean.

There is very little naloxone in Suboxone films or tabs. 2mg per 8mg tablet would be something like 2mg in 400mg. The films weigh a lot less though.

Buprenorphine's affinity is higher than that of naloxone.
 
30 minutes seems a bit excessive. I usually wait about 12 - 15 (however long it takes me to walk home so I can wash out my mouth) and after that it feels well and truly dissolved, I've never noticed any difference from letting it linger.

Hell, even 10 minutes would probably be enough.

Normally, you are right. When I sublingually dose LSD, I wait about 5 minutes before swallowing the hit, maybe 10 tops.

For suboxone tablets ... when I was using those sublingually, I'd notice all that damn corn starch takes forever to absorb under my tongue, especially in the morning when I wasn't drooling with saliva yet. ;)
