Bupe Suboxone compound at pharmacy???

Also missykins is a doctor so I think she'd know.
Maybe they compound regular bupe but not with naloxone. Idk. I still would imagine a generic subutex would be cheaper

This is very interesting....

but good luck getting a doc to write you a script for JUST bupe or subutex. They hardly ever do it, unless you've got some allergy to something in the suboxone. If you are lucky enough, thank the heavens you are able to save that $ every month.

And if the doc writes DAW (dispense as written) they have to give you the name brand suboxone. Plus even if they dont specifically request name brand, if they write buperenorphine/naloxone combination, since the only drug that contains the combo is suboxone anyway and pharmacists cant substitute one script for another (aka a pharmy cant give you a bottle of opana in place of oxys, they can SUGGEST what you can ask your doc and you can tell the doc a pharmacist suggested it, but thats about it).

Even with insurance I pay a hefty price for 14 suboxone strips every week.

Follow the $ guys, if all our fine suboxone docs started giving us subutex generics, R&B would be out quiteeeeeeeee a bit of $ and those very docs would lose their subsidies from R&B. And if those docs weren't getting paid extra $ from R&B, well then, why would they be suboxone docs?

Yes, I am a doctor. I write prescriptions for compounded medications on a regular basis.

Prescriptions for compounded formulations of patented products are only written when a patient cannot tolerate the off-the-shelf product. For example, if a patient has difficulty swallowing and cannot tolerate the tablet form of a medication, I will write a prescription for a compounded medication in a sublingual form. Price is not a reason why medications are compounded, and a pharmacy cannot stock compounded formulas, rather, each prescription is filled on an individual basis. Also, compounding pharmacies are very closely regulated and require additional licensure. These days it's difficult to find one that will do controlled substances that is not a mail-order pharmacy.

Generally speaking, I rarely write a request for a compounded version of a legend or proprietary product. A big reason why is because I then become responsible for all of the adverse reactions the drug may cause (what you typically see on a product insert) because I have in a sense altered the label of the drug when I requested a compounded version.

So for those of you hoping that you will be able to have your Suboxone script compounded for you because you want a grape gummy bear that you think would be half the price, I wouldn't count on it. Pediatricians tend to write scripts for compounded medications in order to add flavor, but those are for children, not grown adults.

What kind of subsidizing do you think doctors get from drug companies, especially R&B? Because it's actually illegal. I'm a doctor and the only things I get are the occasional free pen and pack of Post It notes.

And you know this how..? By the way, Missykins, those things are supposedly bad for the womanly parts; the vagina is self cleaning, trust me. The pH level of the womanly region can be fucked up if you use that stuff. So, I would suggest that you stop doing so.

Obviously he wasn't talking about a feminine product. There is actually a lot of information on the internet about these Suboxone gummy things. They ARE out there in some pharmacies, already, if some patients are already receiving them.

Where are these pharmacies?

Also, only Suboxone and Subutex are approved for the treatment of opiate addiction using opiate agonist therapy. Any physician prescribing a compounded medication is in violation of Federal laws.

You also need to remind yourself of the phenomenon of counterfeit product. Wherever there is money to be made, especially with a drug where there already is a great deal of diversion, there will be counterfeit product. Remember Viagra?
