I just wanted to add that I also experience the "anal fissure" problem a lot of you have mentioned.
I've had this problem for years though.
Prior to opiates I would have a BM 3-5 times per day which I believe caused the problem.
I have had digestive system issues since as long a I can remember though.
I had lots of testing done when I was a teenager but no real diagnosis was reached.
They wrote it off as IBS & unknown other problems.
I haven't really had insurance to get it properly taken care of in years but soon I will be getting it looked into again.
After getting on opiates I usually go once a day in the morning as regardless of dosing I always seem to wake up somewhat sick.
Oddly enough since getting on suboxone I've had a lot less constipation problems than with full agonists.
So I guess I may differ from others on this one.
Though I may not actually be taking enough suboxone to fully cover myself so that may be part of the reason.
Also for the past week or 2 I've been taking Docusate Sodium every 3 to 5 days which seems to help as well.
As I've mentioned earlier I've been averaging .5-1mg per day since last wednesday.
The last 2 days at .5 & today with .75mg so far.
Though 2 days prior I also added on 200mg of tramadol which actually helped immensely.
I was pleasantly surprised.
I'm hoping to stick with my current dosing for a bit & taper gradually over the next few weeks or so supply dependent.
Then jump to kratom or the like.
Then I can see what happens with my doctors appt.'s
As I'm sure some other posters in this thread can identify with having pain/health issues can make getting off opiates being a bit of a catch 22.
Regardless I just wanted to give my input on the constipation issue & an update on how things are going.
Hope everyone is doing well with there maintenance & life in general.
Oh & since we're on the topic of BM's I figure I'll throw in this little tidbit I've shared with a few friends & have received positive feedback.
For those like me who tend to wake up sick & hit the can; you take a space heater (or something similar) & pre-heat the toilet.
It makes what can be a cold & unpleasant experience much more bearable.
This works great for smokers who don't smoke indoors as well.
Turn on the heater, go outside for that morning smoke, come in to a nice warm throne.
Proceed to use your much more comfortable toilet, dose your sub or DOC & get your day going.
Thought I'd throw that in as it fit's with the topic at hand & has helped me dread the morning a bit less.
Also a few friends have taken it up & found it useful as well.
I guess it would depend on the person & the climate they live in but I hope that tidbit comes in handy for someone.
