Hey guys, I just have a quick question and would really appreciate any advice or similar experiences as my WD is coming up and I am starting to feel very anxious...here we go

I have a pretty decent Opiate habit...average 4 to 5 - 30mg roxy a day, give or take for the past 6 months...

I know a tough WD is ahead of me but my buddy sold me a bunch of Suboxone 2mg pills to help with the WD.

I have done a ton of research and i feel pretty confused on how the Suboxone should be used and what it will actually do for me. I understand the basics like waiting until the WD is full blown before i take it to avoid getting sick.

So my question is...will taking the Suboxone somehow take away the worst of the WD or am I just delaying the inevitable becuase I am totally quitting the oxy... So do i take the Suboxone in small doses in the AM/PM and that will somehow trick my body into not WDing or once I stop taking the Suboxone ( i have 15) will my true WD start...any clarification would be very appreciated as I am totally new to this Suboxone

The Suboxone should take away most of the withdrawals, you'll just need to find the right dose. With a 120-150mg oxycodone habit you may need 8mg. Maybe 4mg. Its hard to tell but I thik you may need more than just 1 2mg pill. You should just take it sublingualy but some people snort little piles. Personally I just put them under my tongue. The withdrawals will be much milder coming off the Suboxone than coming off the oxycodone. After your last dose of Suboxone you'll experience Suboxone withdrawals, not the oxycodone w/d's.

thank you for the info, how long should i take the Sub for?

Definitely put them under you tongue. Let them dissolve, it'll take 5-10 minutes and then swallow them. It's not really true that you have to be in WDs before taking subuxone, the important part is that no other opioid agonist is occupying your opioid receptors because if that's the case then the bupe will take over and you'll feel a drop in agonist-effects => WDs.

But still I'd wait until I began feeling some WDs just to be sure my brain was 'clean' and then take 2x2mg. Then wait an hour and if nothing changes then pop another 2mgs and keep doing that until the WDs are completely, not almost, gone. Then when that happens the body is now tolerating the partial agonist/antagonist and nolonger the full agonists, which is good because you can then slowly start tapering off. With 15 2mgs you should be able to get down to pretty small dosages. Take away 1mg each day or perhaps every other day. Then when you get way down to, say, .5mg just kick it, you probably wont sleep for one night, but just watch some TV, it usually helps me, and then the next day or at latest the day after that you'll be clean and able to sleep again. If necessary, pop a pill you aren't dependent upon, like a valium. That'll help.

BUT remember the first time you take your sub, you have to be absolutely sure the oxy is nolonger in your brain (it's okay if it's in your blood though), otherwise you'll regret it, trust me ;)

Good luck :)
