A 'friend' of mine has been on Suboxone maintenance for a little over a month now. On Tuesday my friend took 4mg of Suboxone in the morning then three 20mg xr Opana's. There were no affects from the opiates as the bupe was blocking the receivers. My friend took another 4mg of Suboxone yesterday morning then took 1 20mg opana this morning. She thinks she is starting to finally feel (4 hours after taking it). She has one more that she was going to take tonight then start back on suboxone tomorrow. I know, she shouldn't be messing around with opiates, but it's her choice not mine. She wants to know if she will be able to feel 1 20mg xr Opana 36 hours after taking 4 mg suboxone.

She usually takes 4-8mg of suboxone a day, but hasn't been taking more than 4 this week. Do you think one will be enough and that 36 hours has been long enough? I'll also keep you posted on her experience! (She said that she's going to take it tonight regardless and see if she can feel anything and get back on her regular suboxone schedule tomorrow whether she gets high or not)

Maybe, probably less so than if no suboxone was taken. The mean half life for suboxone is 37 hours; if we were going by this then about half of the suboxone would be gone (could vary for different people and seems like it's slightly less for her if she's feeling some effects 24 hours after bupe administration). Is she just taking them as XR form? If she wants to get high she should try to beat the XR mechanism. The feeling she was feeling this morning could've been due to the 3 XR Opanas she took on Tuesday. In any case, she will probably get some but definitely not all effects from this Opana. Indeed you're right, she shouldn't be messing around with opiates.
