Suboxone and dizziness?

I recently experimented with suboxone for the first time. To start, I usually don't mess with opiates, but I wanted to try nibbling on a strip and see how it felt.

Well it was great, but I couldn't even walk. I stood up from the couch and literally stumbled around like the town drunk back to the car. I felt dizzy, dissociated and pretty high.

Does suboxone typically cause this sort of dizziness?

I took 2 shots before the stuff finally kicked in, but it definitely was not the alcohol as I have built a good tolerance.

It certainly can do. Opiates affect everyone differently, and suboxone isn't a typical opiate so can have even more varied effects. I find that in lower doses it is actually quite stimulating, but if I go a bit too high I lose all coordination and do feel pretty unsteady, if not actually dizzy, so you are not alone! :)

What dose were you trying?

Just to say - you may know this, and if so I apologise, but if by nibbled you meant literally eating then that is not the best way to take suboxone at all due to the poor oral bioavailability - ie not very much is absorbed if you swallow it. It is better to take it sublingually (under the tongue) or snort it if you want a higher bioavailability. Although it sounds like you may have already had a bit too much!!

Less can definitely be more with suboxone - it might be that it just doesn't agree with you, or you might need a much smaller dose than you first thought.
