I take 100mg of methadone daily for the past 6 montha but im trying to switch to suboxone. how long after my last dose of methadone do I have to wait to switch to suboxone? I dont want to go into precipitated withdrawel so if someone with experience or knowledge in this subject could let me know about how long I have to wait that would be amazing. thank you so much everyone have a wonderful day

I only have a basic understanding of suboxone, but that is a very high dose of methadone to be jumping off don't you think? The general recommendation that I am aware of is that you should be on a max dose of 30mg of methadone or less. With a dose like that they suggest 24hr-36hrs after your last methadone dose; basically they suggest that you waiting until you are in full withdrawal, not just starting to exhibit the initial signs of it. Does that make sense?

Can I ask why you at looking to switch when you are on such a high dose of methadone?
