Okay, this is going to sound maybe a little bit stupid, but I swear by it...

Whenever easily accessible drugs are in my vicinity but I don't consciously know about it, I start getting dreams in which I'm digging through other people's medicine cabinets and I score a bunch of awesome prescriptions (opiates, benzos, whatever).

It's almost like my brain is subconsciously trying to tell me that there are drugs nearby and I should be searching for them.

Last night, all my dreams were centered around looking for benzos.
Today, I go into my mom's bedroom while she's at work, and start looking through her prescriptions.
Sure as shit, I find the prescription info packet for a bottle of Valium.
I start digging through her other prescription bottles, couldn't find the valium, so I digged a little bit further and sure as hell I find a bottle of valium hidden in her underpants drawer.

How is this possible? Is it just coincidence? Do I have like some druggy sixth-sense? I'd like to dismiss it as coincidence but it happens ALL THE TIME. Maybe I somehow picked up on it while talking to my mom in the past few weeks, and could intuitively tell she had benzos in her system (from the way she talked maybe, her mannerisms, or just from following her train of thought).

I don't know, but its weird though. To think that whenever I have dreams about drugs, someone I know has those drugs... 3 weeks ago, I was getting dreams about opiates (rummaging through other people's medicine cabinets and finding a bottle of vicodin usually seems to be the most common type of dream). And later on, I learned from my friend that my other best friend had actually sprained his ankle during that same time period and had a big fat bottle of hydrocodone (of course, he ate them all within the first week and didnt share any of them =( ...)
HOW DOES MY MIND PICK UP ON THINGS LIKE THIS??? Especially considering the thing with the vicodin was over a great distance, and I never actually talked to my friend who sprained his ankle during that time period.

Its not like I actively go rummaging through people's medicine cabinets on a common basis or anything, but for some reason thats always what I'm doing in these dreams.

Could my subconscious lust for drugs really be so powerful that it has psychologically ingrained itself at such an intuitive level?

Yes, the mind is a powerful thing. I swear I am a bloodhound for drugs, an ex onetime lost a cig cellophane with some vic's in it and was searching her dirty ass room for something like 6 hours and I come over and in less than 5 minutes find them stashed in a pile of junk near her bed. I would have popped them myself if it was more than just two of them and she gave me a bar for my efforts so I guess it was cool. She had a look of wonder and suspicion on er face for sure though.

And while getting the spidey sense I have found rummaging through medicine cabinets:
-Bottle of darvocet (lame but got me through)
-Bottle of 20mg dexies (score-alicious)
-Bottle of 10 mg methadones (uber-score-aliciousness)

all of these were in times of need (especially the darvocet) and from family members. I got alot a joy when I found out my uncle was taking methadone, he has no pain issues so he must be a secret junky. HE MUST BE.

what kind of replies are you looking for here....

"man me too totally" !!!

or "yea, right, and monkeys fly outa my ass"

quit stealing from family and friends

i DO NOT take the meds when i find them, its just interesting that i do find them

PS, its not like my mom has been using her valium as prescribed either.. They were prescribed to her over a month ago to treat "vertigo". She had vertigo for maybe 4 days, and the 90 count bottle only had like maybe 15-20 pills left in it... she is clearly abusing them.

well whatever, your tone of self-appointed significance is likely going to draw in some mods anally craving the opportunity to demonstrate their authority, and now my thread is going to get closed. Thanks a lot asshole.

I hate when people (friends) assume that just because someone has pain medication they're going to share them.. Especially when your actually in pain and need them..

Not trying to be rude, since alot of people actually dont need their pain meds.

Don't blame him, the destiny of your thread was likely obvious to all us mods after reading the title alone.

As dokomo said, this isn't OD material... regardless of what fattyacid or anyone else said.

Just as a quick side-note, a lot of people have prescriptions for benzodiazepines such as Valium, Xanax, Ativan, etc. This isn't uncommon. I wouldn't correlate it to what you are thinking in your head.

I wouldn't go through other person's prescriptions/dresser drawers, unless you would be 110% OK with them going through your stuff, by the way. I'm the kind of person who wants my privacy respected so I respect others' privacies.
