Basically im trying to get off sub... Im at about 1-2 mg a day for a little over a year and its ruining my life(motivation, im depressed, not as social, etc). Anyway I'll spare most of the details about why i used and everything but i just wanna quit. Im thinking about starting to detox and after four days of not using taking a naltrexone every few hours for a couple days... Any ideas on if this will help with detoxing faster? I dont need to hear about how miserable i will be, how im gonna regret it or any of that. I would rather suffer emmensely for two days than three weeks.

I rarely EVER recommend tapers, but since Subs don't quite give you that 'high', I may recommend tapering down to .25mg before jumping off.

Either that, or jump off right now and report back. Either way, it won't be life or death. You're not going to die.

I've heard people who jumped off at 1mg and their life was a nightmare for weeks to months. Then again, I've heard people who jumped off at 1mg and they were fine after a week.

I know what you're saying about speeding up the detoxing process.. but I really don't think it works that way. Let the drug naturally leave your system if you're going to go cold turkey. This way you'll start getting the onset of WD symptoms sooner or later and you'll learn how to cope before it goes into FULL WD a day or two later.

I mean look, if you have a high pain tolerance and some time to spare (I'm talking a week or so), goto detox, shoot yourself with naltrexone, and make sure it's a place that will take care of you. Will it take 1-2 days off your withdrawl period? Maybe. Is it worth it? That's up to you.

Bring yourself down on a taper reducing your Bupe dose by .25mg every four days until you reach zero. Then when you reach a zero dose for the week follow take .25mg every odd day. (Monday .25/ Tuesday 0/Wednesday .25 and so on.) On the last Sunday of your taper you would take .25 and then nothing the following week.

What you really need to do is build a support system up during your taper. Go to meetings or find people who have been through it who you can lean on. You'll need it.

If you're stuck on the idea of "detoxing faster" just cold turkey it. What you're talking about doesn't really speed it up that much. If you want to be done quickly the best way to do that is to flat out quit.

Well i bought a few ounces of kratom, have been eating much better( lots of fruits and veggies with every meal and lean protein) taking multi vitamins every morning and night, and running almost three miles a day and biking for about an hour after running. Im on day two with no sub and feel just fine. Like no withdrawal at all yet. Im hoping it stays this way but i know the symptoms are gonna creep up eventually. But honestly i feel totally normal so far. Very surprising to me.
