Student slices off penis after stabbing mother and reading Daily Mail

The story actually originates from The Mirror

Yes I know Raas. And don't think for one minute I'm promoting the Mirror as a paragon of good journalism. But while the Daily Mail wrote this shit

It is believed that least one person a week dies after taking party drug mephedrone,

The Mirror wrote this

Mephedrone – which is illegal to sell and possess in the UK – has been linked to a number of unconfirmed deaths in this country.

The Mail article is a virtual word-for-word sensationalist reprint. But obviously that last sentence in the Mirror wasn't quite sensationalist enough for them.

So obviously they 'fact-checked' right?

The Daily Mail has the best rugby coverage. Used to buy it every morning and each afternoon I'd hand it to the homeless guy who squatted out the front of the train station.

After 3-4 months he had enough dutch courage to tell that he "doesn't read that shit" so I just informed him it will keep him just as warm as sleeping under the Sun, just without the wank material.

Who the fuk do you think you are , your lucky he didn't fukin punch you in face . I'm not talking about The Daily Mail just the way you fukin carry yereslf like yer shit doesn't stink .

Informing people that newspapers will keep them warm yeah right fukin tosser .

I'm calling bullshit on your story .

You carry on like that n one day it will be a Ex Military guy that has fallen on hard times n you will get taught , n all yer rugby n bush wacking bollox won't save you .

ed

All you are doing by telling these stories is making yourself out to be a bully .

yeah that was a joke at the expense of homeless alcies, might not be so funny for those who know such people, or understand how these things can happen. Im not taking any sides here.

But i will say OTW as i heard that old saying in the film Philomana 'you should be nice to people on the way up as you never know if you will meet them again on your way down'. My senior level manager refused / ignored my request for a reference, maybe facebook wasnt the best way to ask, but hes just being a cunt, i was a solid employee for about 15 years and have known him for that long, i just went off the rails 'a bit' towards the very end. He wont help a fella out in hard times that makes him a cunt, and i truly hope to meet him again, when im on my way back up, and he's on his way down, i will make my point to him, and then forgive his uncaring selfish arrogance.

Am I the only one who didn't really find OTW's joke offensive?

I'm pretty sure that had anybody else delivered it they would've escaped any criticism. The joke's at the Daily Mail's expense rather than the homeless guy's. At least the way I see it.

As MDB mentions, maybe it strikes a different chord with people who know street drinkers, but it didn't strike me as a nasty joke at all.
