Struggling to keep up with a high calorie diet.

the zone diet works for many many people. Thats like 40/30/30 I think.

Honestly I don't pay much attention to it (total calories or breakdown). I go by 'feel'...but then again I have a hard time keeping fat off while I add muscle, so I'm probably slightly overfeeding and would benefit from keeping better track of it.

But, weighing my food and being so hyperanalytical just doesn't appeal to me.

as long as you're getting ~400g of protein in the rest could be saturated fat for all it matters as long as you workout hard enough.

Right now I'm devouring about 2300 cals. mmmmmmmmmm

400g protein a day???

That sounds excessive for dude that weighs 148. How much protein can he really handle at once? :D

The rest will just be used as energy. Might as well do fat/carbs for that energy at that point.

I would say 150g would be fine. Your body can only handle so much muscle building at once!

/shrug. the more the better in my opinion. carbs fuck me up. they leave me tired and bloated because of insulin response and they too quickly become body fat. eating protein throughout the day will increase anabolism, decrease catabolism, and cause a more balanced insulin level throughout the day leading to more stable energy levels.

i save my carbs for pre workout (about 40g) and post workout (about 200g).

Milk, udo's oil, whey, natural peanut butter, ground beef, whole wheat pasta and brown rice, fruits and veggies.

Constantly be eating. Smoking a little bit of cannabis never hurt anyone's appetite either. ;) (But I probably shouldn't be giving that advice in Healthy Living haha).

Nuts and nut butters. Add oil to foods. Experiment with different oils and experience the wonderful variety. :)

Seconded.

yea the main thing is to go for calorie dense food. Every shopping trip for me is the same:

2 lbs of peanut butter
12 lbs cottage cheese
12 lbs yogurt
5 dozen eggs
50 tortillas
10 lbs chicken breast
10 lbs ground turkey
10 lbs cheese
2 gallons milk
4 lbs of tuna
8 cans of corn
8 cans of refried beans
1 bag of red potatoes
1 bag of onions
30 lb bag of flour to make bread with
10 lbs of plain rolled oats (breakfast of champions)
2 lbs of raisin bran

this lasts me about 3 weeks.

oh and somebody else suggested nuts. my buddy owns a almond orchard so i have 100 lbs of almonds on tap at all times. =)

you'd be surprised how cheap it is to eat when you're eating like this. I'm putting down 4k+ cals a day and sometimes up to 7 or 8k and it only costs about 400$ month at most if you keep to the basics. I don't eat out ever or eat any crappy processed or junk foods so that makes it considerably cheaper.

DUDE! You have the hook UP! lol Nice! %)

Well, eating that many calories is half the fun. The dirty little secret that nobody likes to mention, is all that grub has to go somewhere after digestion. I'm talkin 5-6 shits a day; not to mention gas from hell!! Hahaha I like how no one mentions this little side effect; but there's nothing you can do to avoid it.

If you eat this much, just prepare to have a place to make the deuce bro. It's something that you should plan for to avoid being placed in a 'shitty' situation :\
