At the moment my bike is out of order again and I feel really depressed about it. Everytime I have to take the subway or train instead of just riding the route with the bike I feel immensely anxious and angry at the world. It kind of corrupts my right of freedom, when my bike is under repair.
I can partly empathize with someone, that is addicted to their car, but the attachment to a bike is more personal, because you are actually interacting with the device physically, instead of just building a superficial relationship to the steering wheel and gear box.
Can anybody relate to my current (and recurring) issue ? Sometimes I am reminded of a really dark episode of my life, when my bike is not working again. I feel hopeless and impotent to deal with everyday tasks in such a situation.
Every city should be like Amsterdam or the ideal Marx-City and provide bikes for everyone.
