Street test for K?

Does anyone know how to test heroin for the presence of ketamine? Is there a cheap quick test for K in H that users can do on the streets? There's been a number of non-lethal OD's and some awful psychedelic feelings mixed with peoples highs in Willimantic this week. Suspect #1 Dope cut with ketamine...

More likely it's cut with (or maybe is) pentazocine or some mixed mu/kappa agonist. Heroin's got so many other inactives in it most of the time that makes testing for any specific chemical something best done with a gas chromatograph instead of reagents. Ketamine produces nothing like typical opiate feelings and has quite a different 'feel' to it.

Ketamine has a very unique taste that also has a numbing effect in quantity, perhpas you can use the HPLC in your mouth to tell (if you've had good K before and knwo the taste).

There's always color reagents (Mecke, Marquis, Mandalin, Simons etc) but without knowing what other adulterants are in your smack will only tell you if it's a relatively pure substance or not.

Why someone's (possibly) cutting heroin with ketamine is beyond me. Waste of both drugs IMO.
 
Search for "EZ test Mandalin", there is that and I am sure a number of others. Could have found it yourself with google. Mind you I never tried this myself.

And please don't create another thread if you are not satisfied with the number of replies you get. It's pointless. If people don't reply they don't reply. It's not a case of temporary blindness.

None of these worked in google for me - hmm, what am I missing?
 
There's a reason these kind of threads are frowned upon in BL, because nobody will know what the fuck's in your dope without some of theat dope and a GC/MS and ideally a lot more lab equipment.

The first result on google for "heroin mandelin": A useful book detailing color reactions when mixed with reagents.

If you think you have bad dope, and it doesn't test correctly with color reagents (or hell, even produce the expected result when ingested) STOP TAKING IT! and send some to Pillreports or some other site that will test a sample of your unknown cuts.
 
Thanks for the info and 3 new terms. I can understand why some "kinds of threads" would be frowned upon - But honestly if one would look at my purpose and position there may be a reason to smile upon me, not frown.

As I mentioned I sent the link to the persons this will affect.
 
I understand what you're trying to do here, but realistically the most any street-level user can do is determine within a reasonable margin is ascertain that they either have a pure substance or they don't. Trying to take wild guesses at a psychedelic cut in heroin isn't productive - anyone who wants heroin will generally not want a psychedelic at the same time and vice versa. Informing people of bad dope is another thing entirely.

Sorry I can't be more helpful, but them's the breaks.
