true that, however that hand signal could also be taken as a greeting the same as a wave or a nod of the head.. originally meaning 'hang ten' or 'hang loose' back in the 70's-90's sometime

in the drug scene it's interpreted as a hand signal resembling a bong

I've only heard of marijuana being called Koota in Regional NSW. The most common ones here are marra or green.

Everything else is pretty much the same as the rest of Australia.

Never heard it used in SA - (koota)

Well, when I say it means the same thing here in Perth (WA). I just mean a guy I buy weed off uses it in reference to good weed occasionally. But he's pretty much the only person I ever hear use the word with any kind of frequency. Most people never say it.

Apparently in parts of the US it means Vagina though!?!?
