Misc Strattera

Most people who do report improvements on it say it takes at least a few weeks. Did you not respond well to traditional stimulant medications.(Methylphenidate, amphetamine etc) or are they not available in your area?

There's an irony there seeing as unmedicated ADHD often does lead to addictive behaviours. Hopefully the atomoxetine works for you. I've heard anything from a few weeks to a couple of months to really see the benefit but it does help a lot of people.

wat i really want is ritalin, was on it much younger and it helped quite a bit, now 25 years later and i tried adderal, unperscribed and it made my mind stop wandering all the time and helped to be able to do tasks.

Amphetamine and phenidate based meds do tend to be the most effective for most people which I suppose is why they're generally the first line but that doesn't mean straterra is a dud, you may just have be a bit more patient with it.

And I have met people who prefer it because it works in the background to address your symptoms without the peaks valleys and crashes that come with traditional stimulant medications. Once it starts working it works 24/7 and if you do need to come off it suddenly or you run out you won't immediately become useless for a week like you do when you abruptly stop taking amphetamine.

I will stick with it for another couple of weeks then.
