Strange sinus pressure and phlegmy feeling

So recently, during a couple psychedelic experiences, I had this really strange in my throat and head. In my head it feels like my sinuses are clogged all to hell, and as a result of this, I get this feeling in my throat like I'm about to cough up a huge ball of phlegm. Needless to say it's very uncomfortable, and tends to ruin the trip.
Has anyone else experienced this? How do you prevent it?

(This has happened to me with mushrooms and 4-HO-MET)

i experience a similar feeling on mushies where it feels like theyre trying to come back up my throat and out my nose?

I've only experienced this on 2C drugs but it doesn't affect my throat. Seems to me like it's going to be a side effect for you all the time, I have no idea how to counteract that. Maybe a small dose of cough medicine?
