Strange marquis reaction

My gf bought a half g of molly from her friend, they have been eating it for a month so she didn't think to have me test it. I finally get my hands on it and there was no change in color but some bubbling. I thought maybe my test kit is old (I have had it AT LEAST a year) so i scraped off a small piece of a mint. The mint tested dark purple/black.
Okay so knowing that the marquis is still good, I go to test her molly one more time. I used a little bit more of the sample since the stuff looked like it might not be all the same consistency (cut..) The sample bubbled and sizzled, and I smelled something off the reaction. I tested it one more time and it was smoke that I smelled on the 2nd test.
The reaction is this: instant sizzling, with some smoke trails... zero color change.

When I first met up with her I didn't have the kit so I just tasted it off my finger.. it was definitely drugs, tasted terrible, but literally made my tongue tingly and numb. I said right away that it made my tongue numb. Anyways, I think its DXM. I havent tried it yet.. and I haven't let her try it either. I told her that this really surprised me. Her friends that she got it from didn't believe me at all. :?

my guess is it's some sort of piperazine. maybe bzp or tmfpp. try licking it/ putting a very small amount on your tongue. if it tastes extremely bitter/sour then you should toss it. it's just a half g, so if it's not mdma and you don't know what it is I see no reason to keep it.

I remember a time when "molly" was supposed to be more trustworthy than pressed pills, these days I would kill for a solid pressy over the b.s. caps going around.

Yeah, to pin down that substance you'd probably have to test it with a couple of other reagents. Sounds like it's not MDxx and not even methylone, so it's unlikely to be anything good. Just get rid of it.

On a more positive note, thanks for practicing good HR and looking out for your girl. You probably saved her a lot of headache and might even have saved her life!
