Strange marijuana induced psychosis...

android, what kind of meds are you on?

Can you guys link me to any articles describing exacerbation of mental health issues by LSD? I've been hearing this for years, but I haven't found any decent papers on the subject.

Thanks.

Well for the bipolar disorder i am currantly on lamotrigine (brand name lamictal), wellbutrin, seroquel and when i really need it zyprexa. I would be on zyprexa everyday instead of seroquel if only my insurance paid for it becaise it helps me alot more then seroquel does and has fewer side effects. But this is only for my and everyone is different as lot's of people hate zyprexa with a passion. Between the drowsiness some people get nailed with and also the massive weight gain it can cause in some unlucky people you will hear alot of bitching about it. So by all means does not one size fit all when it comes to psych meds. I am also on clonazepam for GAD and panic disorder and a little bit of social phobia but it also helps with bipolar disorder as well.

She really should see another doctor if all they are throwing at her are anti-depressants as i don't think they would be the best coarse of treatment here to be honest. Atleast not on their own but that is only my opinion.

dude youre not gonna find a lot of these papers, cus not a lot of research has been done in countries like the US, UK whatever. it shouldn't take much more than common sense to understand that anyone with mental issues should try and keep the altered states of consciousness to a minimum.

They just lost health insurance, so it's unlikely she'll be going to anyone anymore. What a bummer. But it has been noted: we'll keep the drug use to a minimum- like I said, maybe twice a year.

I showed her this thread today. She appreciates all the feedback. Thanks everyone.

Thanks for the encouragement higherawareness.

amber, she would not lie to me. her parents and doctors are very aware of her state. she's been on a bunch of antidepressents, but the condition has definitely NOT been serious or frequent enough for antipsychotics.

The antidepressents made things worse, she thinks. She was started when she was 8 or so until about 14. That's way too young for those types of drugs imo. They probably did more damage. But she's been getting better. It's apparent to her, her parents, me, her friends, etc. Perhaps it is only short term; only time will tell. I told her we'll limit psychedelic exposure to twice a year. She's fine with that.
No prob. If you are going to take psychedelics w/ her I think it would be key to be in a comfortable place around familiar people but you problobly already know that. Even well rounded people have various levels of un easyness and paranoia w/ acid speed etc.

I'm only saying this because I truly don't want to hear about this woman's condition getting any worse - how about no psychoactive drugs, whatsoever?

I've had plenty of mushroom trips with no problems whatsoever, but one day the magic just faded and I entered the world of anxiety. Since my second time using acid (resulting in the worst trip of my life) I've been riddled with anxiety and a little social phobia ever since. I know this really isn't that bad when you compare it to psychotic symptoms, but the shrooms and acid obviously triggered some underlying anxiety problems.

So there's a little story for you that will hopefully give evidence to psychedelics exasperating mental problems.

You really don't want to see your wife lose it completely.
