strange experience with pupils contracted instead of dilated

So the other day about 85 mg of what was believed to be MDMA was snorted. It was tested with marquis reagent and the expected reaction occurred. By the time 40 mins had passed the full effects could be felt however the pupils where contracted opposed to being dilated like one would expect. They where contracted to the point that it reminded me of what i've seen with opiate use. I wasn't currently on any other drugs but I have been abusing thienodiazepines for a few months. I took 2 mg( I have a high tolerance and usually take upwards of 8mg) about 5 or 6 hours before the MDMA so I didnt think there would be an interaction, but im wondering if there could have been some strange neurological things going on since theres still a lot to learn about thienodiazepines. Also was curious if there are any wacky chemicals out there that would test like mdma with marquis, feel like mdma, but give you contracted pupils. The overall experience was very pleasant but the whole pupil thing was really weird. My eyes returned to normal about 3 hours after I first noticed the change. Any insight as to why this may have occurred would be amazing.

Did you feel the typical effects of MDMA? What do you mean by "expected reaction" - did the test turn dark purple/black?

Yeah it turned veryy dark purple when tested and the effects where inline with every other mdma experienced I've had. Took a little less then a generally do and I usually don't snort it but everything went as I would expect accept the whole pupil thing

I could see them keeping my pupils from dilating but they have never made them contract in the past. But yeah everything else about the mdma felt right. 85mg isnt really a high dose for me but the effects where definitely profound enough to notice. Was even kind of intense at first

^ I'm guessing u were looking @ ur pupils in the mirror with the light on (how else could you see them?) Maybe when you flipped the lights on they constricted as they should with a response to the stimulus of turning on the lights. Seems pretty simple..

nah not that simple. I was looking at them in a car mirror for the most part and it was a pretty cloudy day so I was only exposed to constant dim natural lighting when I was checking them out. Also looked at my reflection in my phone a few times and was in different light intensities. the brightness of the light around me didn't seem to have much affect on their size. At one point I even kind of wrapped my hands around my eyes to kind of make a tunnel and block out any interfering light, and to make sure they weren't fixed. I was in a variety of environments and checked multiple times. They didn't return to normal until about 3 hours after I first noticed it which was maybe about an hour into it.

Its was a really strange situation but i guess what im really wondering is if there are any analogs of MDMA or other RC's out their that might test as positive with marquis and for some reason cause pupil constriction. Or if there could be some interaction between my thienodiazapine use and the MDMA. Although they dont have that effect on their own.

There are literally x number of analogues... Mdai, mdmai, 6APB, so many man no way we can tell you here.. this is turning into a "what did I take" thread and we don't allow those here... If you really don't believe what you took was MDMA, I recommend sending a sample to ecstasydata.org. they will tell you EXACTLY what you took. It costs $125 for the lab test (maybe even more now..)

Not really sure what else to tell you friend :\

Sorry wasn't trying to turn this into a what did I take thread. Just trying to explore every option. I've was pretty convinced this is mdma given the marquis results but I guess there's always other possibilities in the world of chemistry and I should probably test with a larger range of reagents. Was hoping someone else might have had a similar reaction to something that tested positively. Also wanted to know if any body knew anything about the interaction between mdma and the thienodiazepines which there isn't very much information on. Even though they're very similar to benzodiazepines there's some evidence to suggest they work on neurotransmitters systems other then gaba which may have played a role in this. Maybe it was a weird neurological thing. I guess for now this will remain my strange experience but if anyone has any information as to why this may of occurred it would be greatly appreciated.
