Storing your weed-is this true??

the amount of stupid here is astounding. A freezer isn't thermoelectric -- it will DRY THE SHIT outta anything in there. The only pro I can think of using a freezer would be that it would kill any insect larva after about ~24 hrs in there (the same thing people do when importing cuban cigars, or cigars that have been sitting in the sun for a while). Even then, you will want to create a pretty airtight wrap for that weed.

There is -no- reason that a simple, 2$ mason jar wouldn't be adequet storage for up to several ounces. Dry weed is not a problem. Freezing is overkill

If you freeze the weed then let it sit out, its dry, ever hear of freeze drying?


It does make the trichomes fall off easier as they become more rigid, which is why people do it before making hash.

That is nothing like freeze drying. You would have to freeze the bud below waters triple point, and you would also need a vacuum to put the right pressure on it.

To the op- it depends on how long and how much bud you need to store. If your planning on storing it over a year, I'd throw it in the freezer, anything less, and I'd throw it in a jar. Mold won't grow in the freezer, but it will grow room temp in the jars, especially if the bud isn't dry enough. I would get the bud as dry as I could before I stored it, and then store it with a desiccant. Mold needs moisture to grow, without it your bud is safe.

Are they freezing the bud when it is wet or are they misting it before selling?

If they are freezing it wet then it would be seriously hard to dry without it going moldy.
 
They don't stick it in wet off the plant, but if they buy weed that's moist they'll stick it in the freezer rather than letting it dry out. They don't dry it out, they just sell it. I remember back when I were a lad buying some dope that was still real cold.
As for the freezer drying shit out, don't know about dope but that certainly doesn't happen to my peas.
