Storing Cannabis

I've recently come into quantity of a larger amount of cannabis than I'm used to. I usually keep my bud in a spice jar because it's both airtight and steel. I'm not worried about it breaking, the weed falling out, or compromising its freshness. Are there any jars out there that will keep it fresh for a long period of time, but still be secure and hard to break?

And to be a little more social about this, what different ways do YOU store your cannabis?

yeah i use old Rx bottles, for lesser amounts.
tupperware for qty over an ounce. i even have these mini tupperwares that hold like an eighth.

yup, i would normally store more than half of whagt i have in a jar, and then put the rest in individual pill bottles

if you want to store big amounts of cannabis for say more than a year you should keep it in the freezer.

the weed has to be bone dry for that.

^ my bud is stored in stages. Its usually stored in a wooden box to dry it out if need be followed by the freezer regardless of how long I'm keeping it. I keep small amounts in baggies, usually a couple days worth and the rest in the freezer.

Having variety stored IMO is the best way to stay high. There's nothing like treating yourself to the widow you got last month or that purple from last week

Vacum sealed bags work well but they ruin the asthetics of the herb...

Mason jars are ideal for smaller amounts.

Is it better to store it loose or compressed in whatever container, bag, mason jar you store it in? and this is if you have a good amount

This is a matter of personal preference really. As mrjackjones said vacuum sealing can wreck the appearance of the bud. If you aren't gonna freeze it just loosely bag it and then throw that in the jar. That way your precious green is air tight and you can easily get all of it when you're down to your last bit.

Don't worry too much about it. In all my years I haven't once stored weed so bad that I wouldn't use it. I do prefer the freezer to keep it fresh but if that isn't an option than definitely jar it. At most head shops they sell nice nug jars with cork tops and they are usually colored like glass pipes as well.

Ziplock bag with the air squeezed out. Put it in the freezer if you can.

I agree with the airless ziplock in the freezer.
