My question is has several dimensions...

1) How is it that stimulants can take restless energy (twitch, nervous energy, running and jumping, anxiety) and turn it into focused energy?

2) I have found that I have quite a bit of "nervous" energy (leg bouncing) and a very hard time deciding what to do, making decisions, organizing my time, until I smoke marijuana. Then all my restless energy becomes HIGHLY focused.

3) Is marijuana acting in the same way as a stimulant? Or something else?

4) How does coffee and/or nicotine fit into this stimulant thing with regard to excess mental and physical energy.

Any input on this would be great... there is a LOT of info on google, but most of it seems heavily biased.

Interesting questions, Radius! I think they'll get more attention in our Basic Drug Discussion forum. I will move this thread over there for you.

1) thats just the way stimulants effect some people, but some people not as much. amphetamines especially have the focusing

2-3) some strains of marijuana can be described as stimulating. it may just be because it calms you down and allows you to concentrate on things because you are not overly hyper. again, different drugs have different effects on everybody.

4)depends, for me caffeine helps me concentrate a little, but sometimes can result in more "hyper" type energy too. hate to keep saying it, but different people, different effects. nicotine doesnt do much at all, for a very short period it has a relaxing effect
