Hi,
Recently whenever i use a stimulant, eph, x-FA(s) as examples
i am becoming instantly depressed, i have no reason to be so.
but the psychoactive effect is bringing on general clinical depression symptoms.

is this a "normal" thing, (it happens to some people)
i just don't understand it, doesn't matter the stim i use, i get that feel.

most importantly, WHY would this happen, WHAT is making it happen
could it have to do with a dopamine related something or another?

can anyone comment, share, or link
thanks in advance,
!#@$#!

Some people just can't tolerate certain drugs. A lot of stimulant users get beneficial effects at first but then it turns on them, causing anxiety/paranoia/anger/depression.

With 4-FA, there's an extra serotonin-releasing component similar to that of MDMA. Depleted serotonin is a key factor in many mind- and mood-related disorders. Stimulants do a lot more than just messing with dopamine, which can be problematic in itself for some people (schizophrenics, for example). They also raise heart rate and blood pressure while altering levels of other neurotransmitters like norepinephrine and serotonin.

If it's not working out for you, slow down your usage or stop altogether. Why do something that makes you feel shitty?

i am sure to always replenish my serotinin, dopamine and norepinephine.
this is not a habitual case, i had used often before.
but now when the rare time comes that i choose to do so, i get depressed, instead of up.
the drugs can be any of the basic adhd medications.

WHAT makes the turn from beneficial to not and WHAT is making the difference.

you last sentence is basically moot, but thanks for the basic information.

i am still wondering if it has to do with dopamine.

IF you have heavily abused any sort of stimulants heavily in the past, then the chances are your dopamine/seratonin levels are lower than they should be (by how much idk your usages) and the less dopamine/seratonin you currently have the more depressed you will become when using a stimulant.

Usually what makes it from beneficial to not, is once your brain has released enough dopamine/seratonin after sometime (depending on the drug and usage patterns which severely vary) than it isn't too beneficial anymore since both dopamine and seratonin are the "happy chemicals in your brain" that are responsible for whenever you feel real good on a stimulant/amphetamine or even sober when you graduate, get married, get a million bucks etc.

After awhile of using stimulants your brain is running low on dopamine/seratonin (happy chemicals) to produce, which result in a more depressed feeling even when sober (if you used enough) and even when you take a stimulant. And yes as all i wrote, it has a lot to do with dopamine as i stated above. Hope that helps

It takes a while for your dopamine and serotonin receptors to go back to normal my suggestion would be take a long break of a year or so to get them functioning back to normal then when you decide to use again don't indulge and that feeling should go away.

Well at least while on stimulents but the depression after use will be there from the flood of dopamine and serotonin in the brain so you cannot avoid the depression all together unless you stop using complete and don't already suffer from depression or another mood/mental disorder.
