So I know someone who uses stimulants adderal, ephedrine, caffeine and energy drinks to help her study (not to get high) but she has noticed her heart seems to be beating harder and faster even when she is not on anything. Also she notices she feels cold much more often.

Is this normal?

Thank you in advance.

Welcome to the world of stimulant abuse.

Hypertension and adrenal fatigue are two of the imhabitants faviorite past times

Ephedrine seems far worse for blood pressure/heart rate than normal doses of other stimulants like amphetamine. Best advice: don't combine with other stimulants, drink plenty of water, stay cool and eat frequently.

Combining stimulants is not by any means safe. I hope OP was not implying that someone combines all those 8o

The palpitations or the faster heart rate when not under the influence of stimulants can be attributed to anxiety from the comedown.

Stimulants also influence thermoregulation. When on them, users report feeling extremely warm, when their effects subside, users report the opposite. The effects that stimulants impose are greatly on the nervous system, which is responsible for regulating body temperature.
