Sorry, I am new here, if I am posting this in the wrong place. SWIM is a 23 year old girl, who lately has been getting freaked out after using stimulants. Sometimes, when SWIM has a long night out and takes Molly or other amphetamines, her right arm would feel numb the day after (to a lesser degree, her other arm and legs too). She wasn't too worried after talking to a friend, who said it happened to her too. Also she attributed it less to the Molly and more to the way the drug makes her chain smoke.
In the past 6 months, SWIM has done considerably less Molly (maybe once every six weeks, as oppose to every 2 to 4 weeks) but does the same amount of adderall. SWIM isn't prescribed adderall, so it's hard to say how much, but probably 40 to 60 mg in a day, 3 days a week (with month long breaks in between). SWIM does cocaine rarely ( a gram every 6 months).
anyway, a month ago, SWIM stayed up all night doing speed and noticed her leg going numb. she googled this and started to freak out. The tingly feeling wasn't as bad as it was previous times, because she smoked less cigarettes. However, it lingered for about a week (aches at night, kind of cramps like growing pains) and a week later at a party was convinced her leg was completely numb and she thought she had a blood clot. Symptoms were worse at night when she was laying down, which google said might indicate arterial disease.
Swim stopped doing stimulants and smoking and these symptoms went away. Did them a week later, and they might have returned (swim isn't sure because the tingly numb feeling is in different leg, arms, and is much less strong. Also gets worse when she thinks about it).

So the final straw was when swim was outside on a brisk day and half her fingers went numb. She has experienced this before (years ago, before she did drugs or smoked) and her dr called it harmless, raynauds syndrome. But of course this was after a night of cigarettes and speed, and she thought she was having a blood clot. Swim scheduled a dr appointment for 2 weeks from now, but last night had more tingles and could see her veins throbbing more forcefully than ever. This was on no drugs, for the past week. And one cigarette only the day before. Her palms were sweating too...
swim would give up drugs of she had to but doesn't want to if she is just having psychosomatic effects. Her biggest fear is to lose a limb from arterial disease, so this of course has been building in her mind ever since the first set of tingles. Once again, she is a 23 year old FEMALE who smoked for about 3 years and no won't smoke unless on stimulants. Ends up being a pack a month, maybe a little more.
Swim does less speed than some people and doesn understand why she would be getting diseases that 40 year smokers have. Has anyone here heard of anything like this? She is very scared.

Im not gonna sit here and try and diagnose you or say what your feeling is or isn't worse than it seems, but all I know is that I am a frequent user of stimulants and have been taking them on and off for nearly 10 years and one of the more common side effects for me when taking doses that are typically above therapeutic level is random pains and tingling in my extremeties of varying intensities. I do not smoke cigarettes. My guess is that these random sensations have to do with the drugs vaso-constricting properties.

I would be lying if I said that it didn't alarm me sometimes, but after so many years , you come to expect it especially after learning the nuts and bolts aspects of amphetamines. Another common symptoms is feeling really cold in your hands and feet.

Whenever is see "SWIM" my ADD gets the best of me and don't bother reason the post, it's okay you don't need to use that here.i know tingling is a very very common side effect with adderall and other stimulants especially on your scalp and neck . So if your having tingling sensations at other places of your body I wouldn't get too worried as tingling is a common side effect to begin with, everyone's body is diff. If you feel it jn your arms that just may be how your body is. Dehydration can play a big role in tingling sensations

Dehydration can play a big role in tingling sensations

Forgot to mention that. The painful sensations are a lot worse and way more prevalent if I'm not staying hydrated or putting any fuel in my body which is very easy to ignore when taking amps.

I assume that you passed a H.S health class. If you are getting unpleasant side effects from a strong stimulant drug, maybe you should lower your dose, or stop using them altogether .

It's a sign that your limbs are going to fall off from extreme drug use.

I get the tingling, numb feeling & cold hands n feet on stims. Addy & rit. I noticed if I keep pumping water into my body it gets very light or goes away all together, except the coldness.

I'm a chronic smoker, pack a day easy. So not sure that has anything to do with it but smoking does mess with ur circulatory system, prob y I get colder on uppers.

As long as the pain isn't only in the left arm, jaw (and since ur a woman), shoulder blades, accompanied by heartburn feelings it's prob just the stims. Otherwise, it could b a heart attack with even one of the symptoms above. There are more too n ones u wouldn't think of for women for some reason. Google heart attack symptoms in a female & u'll see what I mean.

sounds like your friend may have some cardiovascular issues, which stimulants are renown for. especially in the extremities of the body; ie - feets, toes, hands, fingers, etc.

when using stimulants heavily i would experience some of the symptoms you've mentioned. even so with moderate to small doses though, most prominent with doses on the higher end.

tell your friend to see a doctor about it and in the mean time to stay off any "hard" stimulants.

let us know if you ever find out the root cause.

I would always get cold hands and feet crashing from adderall . Just cold in general. It's normal. I couldn't even find a vein to shoot dope and calm down. Of course any dose that makes u speeding is playing a dangerous effect on your CNS. even at the top of the pharmacy paperwork it says it can cause sudden death heart attack or stroke...

When using stimulants it's easy to ignore or just not notice you need fluids. Stay hydrated as dehydration side effects include tingles as said and the stimulant it self constricts the vascular system also causing these tingly feelings. If it stops when you lay off for a while imo its nothing to worry about. Just my opinion though. Also surfing web looking for the answers to your problem a lot of time
Is good but can also create anxiety with all the different reasons of why you have these adverse effects which is also just my opinion. I know because I do it every time.

I get tingly feelings and feel a bit numb when on stim highs and comedowns but i dont think its quite the same as what your getting I would ask the doctor about it

A few days ago, I had a echocardiogram done. It was the coolest thing ever. It puts things into perspective. I didn't get the results back yet, but if there is anything out of place, I will have to retire from stims.
I noticed that I sometimes get numbness and pinching in the toes and various other aches . I believe that totally has to do with stims due to the vasoconstriction effects.
To keep this simple, stay away from street stimulants, unless you plan on spending some time cleaning it up.
The motherfuckers that operate head shops near me have there regular tobacco pipes and junk. Right next to that shit, they have right in the open a kilo container of lidocaine. They say it's for cleaning the carpet.
That shit is the cut for ???
The point is the cuts in street drugs, and binders and fillers I believe are responsable for the vasoconstriction effects. Even pharmaceutical stimulants have some binders and fillers. That shit is what causes the majority of side effects.

Didn't mean to ramble, but this is a major subject that actually has the strength to start new threads.

I was prescribed Adderall for a while. I currently take Vyvance now. The Adderall is support to be like 1/3 the strength of street speed. I took it at higher dose ages. If I was rested and hydrated, and my nutrition was good, I had zero issues with the drug. No side effects at all.
The point to this whole mess is, if you prepare your body and mind by being rested and you have been eating correctly, you will have minimal side effects.
Remember, stims are not something to fuck with. You have to be healthy to use them, otherwise you are slowly damaging your heart and cardiovascular system.
Hope this helped somebody.
